RE: Teams looking to become Bowl Eligible Week 10
Virginia plays Georgia Tech this week. Louisville is idle.

By my count, there are 21 teams who could become eligible this week, including FIU and UTSA, who play each other. Nine of those teams are favored and twelve are underdogs. My guess is that 10 make it, bringing the total eligible to 49 teams, compared with 48 after Week 10 last year.

Ten teams face elimination this week, including Ball State and Eastern Michigan who play each other. Three of these ten are favored to win this week and stave off elimination. Seven are underdogs, five of them by more than a TD. I'm projecting that 7 fall out of the race, bringing the total to 22 of 130 teams who would be ineligible, compared with 19 at the same point last year.

That would put us largely on the same pace as last year, taking into account that there is one fewer bowl game. It's still a tossup whether we have to resort to APR qualifiers again.

1 thing interesting- saw from Jerry Palm that he's projecting 3 teams needed to get to 78. He's got 75 eligible and then 25 more with 5 wins.

Can’t believe my Blazers are 1 win away from bowling. Also shocked to see so many C-USA be so close to bowl eligibility.

Updated. Really thought both WMU and Navy would be BE after this week. That is why they play the games.

Right now my gut feeling is UAB is headed to NOLA to play Arkansas State.

It's looking very likely that the MAC will have six teams eligible this year, same as last year.

Rutgers won't be bowl eligible until week 12. That loss against Eastern Michigan early in the season set them back a week. 03-shhhh 07-coffee3

This Maryland game is critical for Rutgers if they are going to have a chance to overtake Ohio State and represent the B1G East in the CCG. And, yes, Rutgers still has a chance to pass OSU, Penn State, Michigan State and Michigan. For that to happen, Maryland must lose this week, then beat Michigan St, Penn St and Michigan to finish in a 4-way tie for 2nd at 5-4 in their division to Rutgers' 6-3.

If you're going to think big, think B1G!

FIU bowl eligible.

How about that, both F_U's are bowl eligible and both with first year coaches from the P5 power schools.

Rutgers beats Maryland - only 2 games away from being bowl eligible. Needs to beat Indiana and pull an upset over Penn State or Michigan State. Gotta go with the glass is 1/2 full optimism at this point. 04-jawdrop 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 04-bow 05-nono 04-cheers
