On the game, there's no way to look at it rationally and not think we win, but it scares me as much as most games we've had this year. It's strange to say it when we're going up against Southern, but I have some concern we're going to be overconfident.

This has the makings of a trap game. As long as we stay focused I think we win by 10 in a game that looks a lot like the ULM game.

I agree, I'm struggling to even come up with an argument on how we win this game. Even with the changes in scheme offensively that showed some life, the defense is simply.. offensive.

We dont win this game, we are the worst team in the FBS and it is not close. The only good that could have come of this game is it got Tyson fired, now that is gone...

If they attempt forward passing they roll us up by 21 at least. Only have a chance with a bad turn over day from them. They have to win two more to get bowl eligible as well, they have the extra motivation like they did in 2016.

This "rivalry" is only going to gain traction when we both are consitently decent. Until then it is who sucks worse game.

Georgia State will beat Ga Southern badly - again. AD Tom Kleinlein has taken Ga Southern DOWN to the level of the Panthers - who really don't belong on the same field as a program of Ga Southern's stature.

Any team that is taught to block, tackle, and hold on to the football will beat Ga Southern.

Panthers... I can't stress this enough.. this is not hyperbole or sandbagging.. Tyson has broken this team and it needs a complete overhaul.

GS as currently constituted is the worst program in FBS and is a laughing stock especially for their old FCS rivals. What the AD and his hand picked, inexperienced, unqualified, inept HC have done to what used to be GS football is downright criminal.

Difference between the two programs is that one has been trending up and the other has been trending down. I certainly wouldn't say Southern has gone down to the level of us, unless they mean that they're Benjamin Buttoning out of existence.

lol I must have missed the news that Georgia Southern generously descended from the godly SEC ranks to join us in the lowly SunBelt.

Georgia State has more than proven their worth. Georgia State fired their coach and is finally winning some games. They are definitely trending up. I wouldn’t necessarily say the we are trending down though. 1.5 years of being bad doesn’t mean anything. Just like y’all fired your coach last season and are seeing immediate positive results, we will also see that next year. Georgia Southern has a solid foundation on which to build and never stays down long. Georgia State is currently building their foundation now that they have a competent AD/coach for the first time ever.

Remember it was one guy that said it, the difference between a bad Sun Belt team and a good one is one or two starters on either side of the ball and or a good HC right now. ArkSt has been the only team to consistently have both good talent and good coaching. App and Troy has had elite coaching but ride the razors edge lately really just one bad play away in being a nightmare season in most of the wins.

I can see Brinson shutting Hart down....however we have a tendency to leave the middle of the field open so late releasing TE routes will absolutely murder us.

We also can no longer stop the run, so I'd expect Gast's rushing efficiency to improve after Saturday.

If we can stop the big play, we may have a chance. Unfortunately, we seem to give up more big plays than anyone in the country. It used to be our offense that was the big play machine. Now it's our defense giving them up.

the statesboro high school team has a better shot at beating gast. I hate it but it is true. our ad and hc have completely destroyed this once proud program.

It's funny because state fans are worried about the game, but in reality all the GS fans are being honest and sincere when we say that we don't expect it to be close. State will remain undefeated in Statesboro (puke).
