Their overall athletic programs have been in place far longer than yours dipsh*t. All you can claim is you went to the tourney a few times and won the toilet bowl last year with a middle of the road record, oh and lets not forget, the city of Atlanta.........you do not have the resume Southern has nor the tradition. You just started football a few years before you left the CAA to join the belt....put that in your pipe and smoke it.

So many wrongs with this statement. Still talking out of your butt lmao. Around longer? Sure. Better? Nope. Better tradition? Sure. Better results? Nope. Football? FOOTBALL? Didn't they beat us last in 2014? Stop making me laugh LOLOLOL. You made my point lol. We just started football and already surpassed Southern in TANGIBLE gains (I like practical results bettter than tradition) what is this, small school camaraderie? LOL please stop, you're gonna make me crack up in the office

Okay, can you give us an example of a tangible gain you have over Southern?

It's not in bowl wins
It's not in conference championships
It's not in football records
It's not in win percentage
It's not in attendance
It's not in budgets/revenue
It's not in athletic subsidy
It's not in players in the NFL

So in what way have you surpassed us? Winning three games against us means squat when you don't have any of the things mentioned above over us. If your reasoning as to why GAST deserves to move to a new or better conference is because y'all have 3 wins against Georgia Southern, you'll be laughed out of any conference office faster than you could whip out your rings you made for losing a bowl game.
TBD wannna make another 50pg thread? Let's move this showdown to the SBC board. Better yet, we can continue the old thread there 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

Since you can't even come up with a response, I don't think this thread is in danger 07-coffee3

Or not hijack CUSA thread any longer (hey mods I tried to prevent it! This is proof)? Short and simple response would be $$$$, facilities, and wins in pretty much everything. Qualifies as tangible. I will await your expectedly TBD style response in the GSU/GS thread

$$$$
According to USA Today, GS has a larger budget, larger revenue, and a smaller student subsidy than GAST http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/

facilities
Your facilities were built in the early 90's for the olympics and then revamped for MLB and then revamped again for your needs. You have a room on the third floor of a building that you call your basketball arena that's smaller than our arena which is saying something. My high school would be embarrassed to have your baseball stadium. You have no IPF, a trailer for a weight room, and a minivan for an equipment truck. Better facilities my @$$.

wins in pretty much everything
You have wins against Southern. Not wins in general. If you put the overall records of our major sports teams next to each other, Georgia Southern would dwarf State. It says a lot about the dynamic between the two schools when Georgia State's only claim to fame is wins over Georgia Southern...

FYI, not even trying to speak in code anymore.

When you have every hood rat and crackhead applying to your school, it definitely fudges the numbers (@GSUtruebluedrew)
https://twitter.com/GSUtruebluedrew/stat...4940576769

I didn’t even apply to GAST. When I was in HS in METRO ATLANTA I didn’t even know where GAST was. Nobody I knew went there. For all I knew, it was an HBCU somewhere. In fact only 1 girl from my HS went to State bc she was close to dropping out of HS! Y’all are a joke. Sit down (@GSUtruebluedrew)

No one at Georgia Southern considers y’all a rival. You’re a garbage school full of crackheads and homeless in the middle of the slums of Atlanta. You guys are the last option school and you know it. That’s why you’re trying so hard. It’s pathetic honestly.(@GSUtruebluedrew) https://twitter.com/GSUtruebluedrew/stat...7305006080

Now post the ones of what the Georgia State fan said first to elicit those responses. It’s just Twitter trash talk. You guys are being way too sensitive, and you only posting what I said and not what he said first about GS proves that you guys are full of ****.

$$$$- We raised hundreds of milllions from our alumni base just last year alone. We can print money with 50,000+ and growing students and already earning crap tons of money renting out the GSU Stadium on a regular basis. we can raise our budget when needed. We already spent $50+mil on phase 1 out 5 football renovation and will spend at least $80mil on bball arena. Our finances are in a great shape. NEXT!

FACILITY- everything you wrote is irrelevant because we are building State of art facilities for football and bball as we speak. NEXT

Wins- we own Southern by a large margin. Can't talk crap when head to head reocrd don't hold up. GSU has 20+ wins bball every year. 2 tourney out of last years with win over #3 Baylor. When did GS did something similar? Oh right. In football, FCS is irrelevant. For us, our roster is now proper FBS -caliber and we have all the support and logistics to succeed in the FBS. Oh yes made your "never compete with southern football in 10yrs" pretty silly. Next

If your finances are in great shape and you can raise your budget at will, then why is your budget one of the lowest in the FBS and your student subsidy of your athletic programs the highest?

"blah blah blah our potential blah blah we are getting there blah blah potential blah"

If you want to talk about head-to-head then by all means. Y'all have 3 wins over us in football out of the 4 times that we've ever played. Y'all still have a long way to go to cover the lead we have on y'all in the basketball series and the baseball series. Beating Baylor in the NCAA tournament?? LMAO you think that's an accomplishment? 03-lmfao03-lmfao Have y'all ever beaten an SEC team in any of the main three sports? Call me when you beat one in all three and then I'll talk to you.

because....we have the money in the bank but why waste it fast and loosely without careful planning? who's not so smart again? CSE, CRH, and their staffs will need raises, we are building new homes for football, basketball, and baseball, new weight rooms and athlete's dorms etc etc in the works. Like it or not, the budget will go up

so jealous. i know you want shiny new things too. beating #3 Baylor in basketball was nothing? LOL it's so evident that you are getting salty so hard 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao cant get to tourney in the first place and already discounting the teams that actually went to the dance

A couple of serious questions, here:

1. What is the time table on the new arena and the new facilities for football (whatever those are)? I haven't seen anything specific. A lot of campuses have these "master plans" but they are usually not plans for the next 5 years or even the next ten years.

2. How much of that $100 million is going to athletics and how much to housing and academics? Heck, we've had well over $100 million in construction in the past three years between the new biology building, the new multipurpose academic building, the military science building, and now a $50 million engineering building (which will be the best engineering facility in the state outside of Tech BTW) in the works. And this is Statesboro where you can put up a nice 120,000 square foot building for $30 million.

Ted project is $400M not $100M. The whole thing is five phases. Yes it will years for just the five phases of athletics/academics. The arena design money $5M is in the next year state budget. The land has already been transferred by the state. Likely 2018-2019 is the design phase. Most say move in is 2021. Stadium current phase into next year is non visible. Weight room and football operations that will get us out of the practice facility on MLK. That facility will likely go to Soccer. 2019 offseason could see tear down of part of second level of stadium in what was right field. What would follow is IPF in what was right field and new upper level over IPF behind where the new visitor seating is currently. By then we are likely in 2022 football offseason or thereabouts.

new bball arena- opening Fall 2021. It's a pretty firm timeframe given by the people involved. In a document submitted to BoR for approval, it stated, "Exterior design will encompass a skillful blend of brick masonry, stone, metal and glass to create a facility that is visually appealing and efficient to operate. This facility will provide appropriate indoor space to meet its current and future assembly/event needs. In addition to a large multi-purpose arena with a seating capacity of 8,000, the facility will celebrate its flexibility by hosting athletic events, convocations, commencements, conferences, concerts and other major events on a scale reflective of the University’s national and international stature in learning and research. The building will feature divisible meeting and conference spaces with state of the art technology, lighting, acoustics and building control systems." Expect a modest $80mil budget, but that's fine...JMU built theirs for the same price and it looks pretty good

football- internal stadium upgrades in summer 2018, including new weight room, new offices (old Braves offices below former RF ripped out in preparation for demolition next year), meeting rooms, players lounges

fundraising- not $100mil. 2017 Burning Bright campaign added $300mil to school's general fund, and the GSU general fund along with financial support from BoR down the street is paying directly for the south campus expansion. Our President Mark Becker is a big supporter of GSU athletics and he is heavily involved in the South Campus project because that is his vision. IMO, Becker is earning every dollar of his $1.2mil/yr salary by working his magic with the governor, BoR, private donors, and private companies. Good news is that the GSU Stadium is paying for itself with non-stop rentals for private events, concerts, and pro football league that's starting next year.
