Win-win-win-win-win for all parties involved. Great cause, really good basketball. Well, at least for 3 of the 4 schools. 03-wink

Very interesting.

Supposedly UNCW has two "secret scrimmages" scheduled for the next two Saturdays against Appalachian and Winthrop. I'm assuming one of those would need to be cancelled in order to do this?

One of those schools was clearly invited so that UNCG wouldn't take 3 L's.

Even more interesting: seems that UNCW will have 3 preseason tuneups.

UNCW to take part in jamboree at North Carolina

In the wake of recent disasters around the country, the NCAA has been granting waivers that allow Division I opponents to play each other in exhibition fundraisers, either as one-off games or jamborees.

The jamboree will be the last tune-up for the Seahawks before taking the court on Nov. 11 against N.C. Wesleyan to open the 2017-18 season. According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, UNCW will host Appalachian State on Saturday, then host Winthrop on Nov. 4 in secret scrimmages. These events are not open to the public and results will not be available per NCAA rules.

A funny jab from a Duke-centered ACC Roundup:

Up the coast, UNC has organized an event with its academic betters, in-state schools UNC-Greensboro, East Carolina and UNC-Wilmington.

They’ll raise money for the NC Disaster Relief fund. All three schools are coached by former UNC players or assistants

Your arms are my castle, your heart is my sky
They wipe away tears that I cry
The good and the bad times we've been through them all
You make me rise when I fall

The NCAA is allowing a bunch of these exhibitions for charity due to all the natural disasters our country has recently been struck with
