To be fair, I would assume a vast majority of your fans are coming in from out of town.

90% of them probably yes. Always been a traveling fan base. Most travel over a hour

Troy has the luxury of having larger population bases nearby. Montgomery is just a 45 minute drive, Dothan is 1 hour, Columbus is 1.5 hours, and Pensacola/Mobile, both of which have large Troy alumni bases, are just 2.5 hours.

Troy and App are very similar in this. Boone has a population of just 17,000.

The county Boone is in is more populated than ours is

True. The state of NC has a population just over twice that of AL, too. I believe the point is that both Boone and Troy are small university towns with metropolitan areas close enough to make a day trip for a football game a fairly easy thing.

With Charlotte (842,000+), Winston-Salem (242,000+), and Greensboro (287,000+) all less than a two hour drive from Boone, I would actually expect our attendance to be better than it is. Alas, there are a few other universities in our state and in SC that seem to draw some folks away.

Yea that's a bum deal for stAte and Jonesboro. We could've had 3 programs averaging between 25-30k had the U come to town. It would be nice if at least half the Sun Belt programs could average above 20k.

I tuned in around 3rd quarter. It was definitely pouring down rain. Folks must have headed for the hills at half. Didn't look like many people were there.

It was during the first half when the rain started. As the rain started they showed the stands and people were filing out of that place as fast as possible.

RE: Attendance YTD
They might have had a lot of tickets sold but there was not 23k there.

I know out of the 6 original people we planned to have there, only 2 of us showed up. I imagine the weather kept a lot away. It looked like a lot of the reserved seating for Troy never really had much there, but the endzone seating was pretty filled in before the rain hit.

I had full rain gear so I never left the stands, but while it was raining the people that did stay were under the decks pretty much the whole game.
