For anyone interested, the Basketball Champions League streams all of their games, plus makes them available for replay. Great watching Marcus (Banvit) and Terry (Le Mans) going head to head last week in their first matchup.

Sean Sheldon sighting with the Spurs:

Karma that Burchfield is playing for their G League team.

Neither Connor, nor Daniel (right ankle), played in their teams' season openers this weekend. Daniel's Northern Arizona team plays at Connor's Austin team this Friday night.

There's been talk amongst my friends about how it's unfortunate Marcus is off in Turkey, because he'd have a lot better shot of playing for the Cavs this year than last.

Daniel's Northern Arizona team vs Connor's Austin team tonight at 8:30 on ESPN+ in G League play. Daniel seeing a lot of court time while Connor has not.

Connor was waived back on 12/15 when Austin signed another guard.

RE: Tribe Basketball in the Pros
Connor Burchfield got picked up by the Greensboro Swarm in the G League today.

Dixon is still with Northern Arizona (G League). Tarpey still starts for Le Mans, who just made the field of 16 in the Basketball Champions League Playoffs. Prewitt is the leading scorer/rebounder on his Poland team. Cohn is still with his Israeli team.

Thornton got released by his Turkish team in October. Unless someone else knows or can find something, I don't see where Marcus has been playing anywhere, which is a major shame, if the case.

If Marcus is indeed not playing anywhere, would not the UNCW game on the 23rd be the time to retire his jersey, assuming no scheduling conflicts finally?

Cohn is a sub for his Israeli team...playing behind one of the league's all-time great players.

Rumor has Marcus playing in Australia. No confirmation on this, however.

Tony said during a recent Monday night radio show that Marcus was currently at home dealing with a leg issue. I honestly do not remember exactly the type of injury but I think that it was along the variety of a stress fracture, shin splints, etc., although those two maladies may have nothing in common. It might have also been a foot issue instead of lower leg.

Team France beats and eliminates USA in the FIBA world cup.

Has the rest of the world finally caught up? Tarpey and Marcus with real competition

While the world has certainly made great strides, let's not get too carried away. This wasn't a particularly great US team in the era of using pros. Some very good players no doubt, but far from a US dream team. This loss broke a US winning streak approaching 90 straight. When losses are a bit more common I'd be willing to entertain that the world has caught up.

Marcus Smart 22:22
Joe Harris 18:56
Khris Middleton 18:14
Derrick White 12:07
Myles Turner 10:18
Brook Lopez 4:31
Mason Plumlee 1:10

Of course our Superstars would win in a true Dream Team again, but the bottom line is, after the absolute best, it seems that we are much more equal. I dont think that was the case 20 years ago.

I've granted to you that they Europeans have made great strides, but removing US superstars from the equation while European countries keep theirs isnt a fair comparison. A good comparison is US men's Soccer. If every good euro team we played was without their top players and the US carried their best, I'd venture to say that we would be competitive. Best vs best and we would be overwhelmed the majority of the time. Heck, you bench Duke's starting lineup and most solid midmajor teams would give them fits. You get my point.

Bottom line--euro teams are better than 20 years ago, but we sent a less than ideal national team over. How many NBA all stars were even on the squad? I didn't look it up. Three or four maybe?

2 current all-stars, Middleton and Walker. France had the NBA defensive PoY and we had nobody at his position because all of those guys declined.
