TU v Toledo
I am definitely not a fan of this game being played. Toledo is just shy of 1,000 miles away and is in a conference below ours. And with MAC referees, this game in a state we don't recruit, is a game that could get stolen even if we are better.

In 2013, Bill Blankenship took a TU team to Bowling Green and got beat 34-7 there the year after we won CUSA and were Liberty Bowl Champions. If we get beat on the road at a MAC school, I think we need to revisit the scheduler and have a sit down "Trump" kind of discussion. This in my mind is like the NC A@T game was last year. A giant nothing burger. A game almost 1,000 miles away that our fans won't go to, won't see on TV against a team they cannot relate to and not make money off of.

Why does the scheduler do this at least once every year?

Rant apology. 03-hissyfit03-banghead01-wingedeagle

AMEN!!!! Nothing to gain from these games........hell, if you're going to schedule an away game make it against the best team in the country......at least we make money and a loss isn't terrible. Tulsa's defense better show up big time or this will be a bad loss, which I am predicting.

Can't blame the officials, they were from AAC. When they play again in Tulsa then there will be MAC officials.

And the MAC is not below the AAC

Thanks for dropping by. I guess we can agree to disagree.

Good luck the rest of the way.

RE: TU v Toledo
No defense......no passing game, it's as simple as that. I feel sorry for our WRs.......we have a good crop of receivers.....real good and they are hardly involved in the game. Someone might say we scored 51 points without them but against a better defense that 51 might become 15. Defense.....I don't remember seeing a single contested Toledo reception all night.....I know the interceptions.......but I saw too many times when there wasn't even a Tulsa defender close to the receiver and if there was they just let the receiver catch it.......weird. Unless our defense, some how improves, every game is going to be just like this........whoever scores last wins!!!

RE: TU v Toledo
In the end, our goal is always to get bowl eligible. We really need this New Mexico game. So our 22nd bowl this year is still a good showing as far as the history of the program is concerned.

So as bad as it is to lose to an inferior program and league on the road far, far away, we still have 9 games left to recover. Defensive coordinator Bill Young has taken a lot of criticism so far and maybe he IS too old, but there is one thing he has experience in and its coaching against the triple option. At least thats my hope. His defense should be assignment sound against the Lobos.
