I think the league made the right call. Harry is a big liberty proponent and i personally don't agree with him. We have to wait and see what that one win vs Baylor and tons of money with that degree mill will turn into it.

Adding Liberty would be like adding Texas with all their wealth.

You'd have to think Liberty would be buying more than a golden ticket into CUSA. They'd expect a lot of preference and influence with all that money.

This. It's one thing to have them as a quirky conference mate but who could stand up to them? Rice?

15 schools is too many. Honestly, I wish we were at 12. But if we are going to add someone, then someone else has to go. 14 is the absolute max.

I wonder if the league would let USM sell its spot to Liberty for the millions. Most USM fans would like to jump on that in a split second.

That's really not that much money split 14 ways, even if the league itself didn't take a single dime.

Hard pass.

Where you going. The Sun Belt. The AACk isn't taking you and the B12 and SEC would just laff at you. I guess you could go indy but unless you are Army or BYU that isn't gonna work to well.

Per the article, LU has recently opened "a $29.2 million indoor football facility."

Clemson spent $10m on theirs in 2013. I've walked through it and it is spectacular.

Diploma mill or no, 29.2 is some serious coin to drop on an IPF.

That would be more like except Phoenix is for profit and Liberty is private non profit so all their money from all the online degrees have been sheltered through their endowment.

5 years ago Liberty's endowment was $120 million now after their rapid online expansion they have channeled all their profits to the endowment = $1 billion

Sure he tries to break stories but most of his articles are written on a sophomoric level, click bait with no substance. I think he trolls this message board looking for ideas. The dumbest threads on here seem to be his articles

This for instance
"Liberty’s TV profile in all sports is unmatched in C-USA: Every one of its sports events, from football to field hockey, that isn’t otherwise televised is broadcast on ESPN3. The Liberty Football Sports Network, which televises most football home games, reaches 35 million households."

Cmon dude nobody watches that or cares regardless of how many supposed households it reaches

I know we are not usually on the same page but you've nailed this one. WTF is liberty n/w and who the **** watches it anyway. Harry is out of his mind with this article.

Liberty plus CUSA East plus all non-Texas West schools minus FIU. That's a good 10 team league. The non-P5 need to become more regional soon. I don't want to go back to the MAC but CUSA isn't going to be able to survive very long with no money. And travel is a killer for all sports. It's sad but we can't keep going in the direction we have been as a conference since 2013.

There eventually has to be an east west split among the CUSA and Belt schools. Just don't see a way around it long term.
