2020 MBB Recruiting
So, since the coaching staff has liked Milkereit's top 5 school post, I assume that puts to bed the thought that Connor's commitment ended Jake's recruitment here.

Also noticed on Instagram that Coach Kemp is in Dallas. Perhaps an in house visit for Milkereit? He's also followed by Milkereit's stand out 2021 teammate PG Imo Eissen. A Bishop Lynch package deal?

Coach Howland is in Wilmette, IL watching Loyola Academy’s open gym (checking on Bennett Kwiecinski I presume).

@LAMensBBall tweets:

“Great to see William and Mary AC Mike Howland at Open Gym today. Really exciting to watch Mike’s college career progress.”

https://mobile.twitter.com/LAMensBBall/s...4179577856

Kwiecinski takes an official to Lipscomb this Thursday. He already took his official to Siena and has one at Yale coming up.

Really like Kwiecinski, though I'm not sure he fills the big man void. He is listed as a SF, but IMO his skillset is more of an undersized power forward. Though comfortable on the perimeter, he is at his best when he can maneuver around the post. Ultra skilled with great hands and footwork. Has a wicked spin move that he uses all over his highlights to great effect. He will struggle in the college post until he can beef up a good bit. I wonder if they are looking at him as Milkereit insurance? As noted earlier, plays on David Cohn's former AAU team and is friends with Connor Kochera - so definitly some strong ties.

Curious what Bennett will do if Drake offers him to join his twin, Jordan. Or, if we offered Bennett, if Jordan would open his recruitment back up if we offered a slot to join his brother?

Boatner now following 6'0 PG, C J Anthony, out of Ohio. May not be 6'0", but built like a LB. Strong, high energy, hardnosed, and really can get to the hole with either hand. Ohio Division III POY. Class President with 3.56 gpa. Impact on defense, as well as, offense. Love to have him.

Coach Kemp and Anthony started following each other at the end of April so this is not just another new name for the list but someone they are looking at with increasing interest. I remember his highlights standing out among the many players the new coaches followed in April. He holds offers from Towson, Toledo, Stony Brook, Robert Morris, and Air Force.

The coaches returning to a player identified back in April makes me think Metheny and Lipscomb aren’t looking promising but Anthony would be a good get.

Agree about Metheny and Lipscomb. Anthony apparently has a lot of family members who were Air Force, so, may or may not be a hurdle. Air Force is like the Ivies, though, with a gazillion players on the roster.

6'10" Jacob Hutson had officials scheduled to Bradley, UNI, Loyola-Chicago and GW, with one open. By my count, Loyola and GW no longer have an available schollie, but Loyola still is showing interest. Being from MN, I would assume Fischer is the lead on any involvement still, so, hard to know anything. Hope he is in play.

I like how Loyola Academy's tweet wasn't simply "William & Mary is at our open gym tonight" but gushed about Coach Howland. He must have built some great relationships during his time at St. Viator.

Kwiecinski liked the tweet, by the way.

With transfer Bryce Barnes and then interest in Kaden Metheny, Jalen Moore, and CJ Anthony, who are all under 6’0 tall, I think we're starting to see a preference for a certain kind of point guard.

Good observation regarding Anthony's Air Force connections.

This is certainly the time to sneak back into Hutson's recruiting with his initial preferred schools running out of scholarship spots. Coach Boatner followed two bigs, Ethan Price and Alston Andrews, on 9/8 (and these were the first new 2020 players that any coach had followed since following Johnny Vrdoljak, also a big, at the end of July) which makes me think they are also looking for new names. Price is interesting; around the same time as Boatner following Price and his coach the coach tweeted that the first of several D1 college coaches would be soon coming over to England to watch practices. I hope Boatner is on a plane flying over soon!

You mean the kind of point guard that has killed us over the years? All jokes aside, it is exactly the type of PG I prefer too. Athletic, with the ability to distribute. But, needs to be able to penetrate and keep a defense honest. Being able to hit the open 3 is gravy on top.

Zach Fleer tweets:

“William & Mary is expected to visit '20 Harvest Prep PG CJ Anthony and '20 Dublin Coffman PG Keaton Turner today

Both guards were standout performers last week at the
@270Hoops Fall League”

https://mobile.twitter.com/ZachFleer270/...8893137921

We were just talking about Anthony but the 6’0 Turner is a new name.

Highlights:

I don’t see any offers so far for Turner but I see coaches from Lafayette, Ohio, Chattanooga, WCU, and NKU following him.

A Bowling Green assistant followed Metheny so maybe there is still space for another PG. Metheny and recent Drexel commit Lamar Oden Jr are now following each other so add Drexel to the mix; they were in on him early and he took an unofficial there a while ago.
