BTW, I moved my money from Chase when they decided to allow open carry/bully in their bank branches.
You feel bullied when you see a gun in a holster?
Yes, open carry is a hostile act. The entire point is to bully.
Have you been on the wrong end of a gun? I have 3 times. Twice it was somebody perpetrating a crime. One was an assault happening to a woman in the parking lot and I started screaming and moving toward the perp. The other was in trying to a move a battered woman to a shelter and her drunk boyfriend showed up armed and was wanting to beat her again. The other time was a rookie cop not following protocol in a multiple dwelling area and he had the wrong dwelling. I offered him no reason to shoot and finally he realized he was outside of the wrong dwelling.
I have no problem with citizens arming themselves. They've had background checks and the weapon is registered. The crooks steal guns, usually have records, and if they are high you are twice as likely to get shot. I for one don't intend to die as a result of the real bullies of this world, the criminals.
I have the suspicion you've never been the victim of a violent crime or an attempted violent crime or you might feel otherwise.
Yes, I have. Perp was a fat white DRUNK neighbor who thinks he's a PI (he's not licensed). He's also a tremendous homophobe. He nearly ran me off the road in his fake police car and pulled a firearm on me when I asked him drive more carefully. Of course I called the police, but it was a 'he said, he said, thing, even though I identified the firearm. I wish there had been a witness so he could have his firearms taken away and I could have gotten a restraining order. I caught him going through my garbage after that.
The entire neighborhood is terrified of him. But like most losers who like to play 'pretend policeman' he's a complete loser. He'll be gone soon enough. My neighborhood is expensive. He is exhibit a on who shouldn't have a gun.
I've also been Gay bashed (or at least someone attempted to...cold cocked me leaving a Gay bar in Colorado of all places....he got the worst of it though).
If you were outside a gay bar, isn't it a pretty good chance that the guy that hit you was gay too?

And yet, you lived, as did I. But if faced with citizens who properly attained firearms and criminals, I'll take my chances with the those who properly attained them. Their motives remain in doubt. The motives of criminals are never in doubt. It's not a perfect world and the fundamental right of everyone is to be able to defend themselves, just as you did outside of that bar. You only get one trip on this planet, preventing a sociopath or an idiot from ending it too soon is too important to leave to those who may not respond for half an hour. Life and death, intentional or accidental, is usually decided in seconds. So what I resent are those who try to take my right to defend myself away. We are foremost responsible for ourselves. Nobody else is the primary defender of our lives or rights. And since the world will never be a perfect place, I am profoundly suspect of any agenda that seeks to limit my options for the preservation of my life.
I refuse to live in fear, and I repudiate the notion that I must rely upon others to defend me.

Half million donation to SPLC to continue their work to label conservative groups "hate groups."
May be time to move my account.
What group is a hate group that you object to them labelling as such?

Apologies for the late direct response here (work has been a bit busy lately).
This is an incredible untruth. Open Carry is the exact opposite of bullying. It is simply a constitutionally protected crime deterrent. I don't open carry often (yet I should), but the ability to significantly reduces the chance that myself or others near me will be victims of crime. Simple common sense tells you that criminals attack soft targets. A citizen exercising their open carry right is anything but a soft target.

No, this guy was a total mess. I was able to get 'the rest of the story' afterwards on this one. This attack was witnessed, and it wasn't coming out of a Gay bar. Nor was I trying to do anything other than get away from him, because he creeped me out.
