That's 1/8 of a 15k stadium that was YSU fans. Their fans not showing up in greater numbers wasn't due to a lack of available tickets.
1/8 of 15k is 1,875. I'll be generous and say they brought 2k fans.
No, YSU wouldn't sell out their 4K allotment. You can remove them from that list.
There were media reports of 4k seats being removed from 20.5k for the construction, 16.5k available for last year's NC game.

There was also the communications manager for the Frisco Convention and Visitors Bureau saying 2+ weeks before the NC game "....capacity has changed over the past weeks due to construction, but on Jan. 7 Toyota Stadium should seat “about 18,000.”.."

What ever it was, capacity was higher than 15k.
I think YSU brought somewhere between 2-3k. The listed attendance for the game was 14,423. There a # of people on people on here who swear it was lowballed because not all tickets were being scanned, so it might have been a little higher, around 15k. I think it was something like this:
-1k-2k were locals/non affiliated/NDSU
-2k-3k were YSU,
-Which would leave 10k-12k being JMU (all the claims on here have ranged between that). Course all of that is guestimates- no way to be proven or disproven.
I think more YSU fans would have come if YSU hadn't screwed up so bad by only requesting 1k tickets. I'm sure there were some that didn't want to buy from NDSU fans off the secondary market. That and I don't think they expected to be there, or expected to win (their suspensions were worse & took a lot of wind out of their sails). If sometime in the future they had a 9-2 or 10-1 season and were a seed, had more excitement generated, they would have a chance on selling out their allotment. That's why I said maybe.
