That became abundantly clear during the game. They was robbed.

The dagger stat is probably percentage of time spent in the attacking half for Columbia in the 2nd half. I would venture to say the ball was on W&Ms half of the field for at least 65% of the 2nd half. A lot of tired legs out there, especially the back line.

Sucks because W&M is capable of playing way better than they did tonight, but Columbia was the much better team tonight and deserved the W.

As much as the L sucks, this team should be very good next year. Eskay, Spain, and Breno are the only players they will lose. Spain will be a tough replacement, as I am not sure there is a CDM on the team with the coverage and ball winning skills anywhere near Spain's ability.

Eskay is a tremendous loss. Every game that I saw, he seemed like the initiator of any offensive push. Everyone else is predictable, but he was often able to start the attack or create, ultimately leading to a scoring opportunity.

Bell and Bustamante have done well creating offense also. Bustamante held the dribble and went around guys plenty tonight. Unfortunately, his passes (along with the rest of the team) were uncharacteristically off. I think W&M has enough speed on their team to not miss the loss of Eskay as much as Spain. The CDM is often the glue guy that holds the midfield and defense together, which I thought he did a good job of this season.

Both losses definitely hurt though

Yes, I thought the Tribe's best chance to score in the second half was to forget about the passes (because none of them were getting through anyway) and for Bustamante to create one-on-one. He was clearly the best ball handler out there. Instead, he tried poking those weak passes that kept getting intercepted.

I also thought that it was too bad that the Columbia assistant coach got red carded on the bench. After that, it seemed that every call went Columbia's way. I saw lots of pushes and fouls that we're all "play on". Wasn't there a handball right before the tying goal (or was that slightly earlier)?

A heartbreaking loss...we did get seven shots on goal. Crowd was a terrific 1476, the largest yet in the revamped stadium.

Team returns lots of firepower for next season; hopefully, touted freshman class will fill one or two holes and add some additional speed.

Wake Forest beat Columbia 1-0.

UVa lost to Fordham. (UVa was seeded and had a bye).

VCU lost to Butler. (VCU was seeded and had a bye).

UNC just scored in minute 55 to take a 1-0 lead on UNCW.

Concerning VCU and UVa: (quoting Nelson) "Ha Ha".

** Update: UNC beat UNCW 2-1
