"The people who ginned up the controversy show themselves in the foot," said Endre Balogh, a violinist. "When people mix politics and music for specious reasons, then they get what they get."

Who was the group that attempted the boycott?

He's a real soft spoken, academic guy. I like listening to him even though I don't agree with his assertions that only religion can provide morality. That's a sticking point to me but to say he "normalized bigotry" is patently, slanderously ridiculous.
