We live in the real world and everyone is not publically correct.

Tech troll hasn't been here since Cajun fans haven't been here. They go hand in hand. I know there has been a running thing with one Cajun fan and a tech troll that has gone across many websites. They always find each other. So the Cajun fan got banned, and the tech guy goes away. I'm not privy to all the background, but it all evolves around the name game. You guys are tired of it, the Cajun fans are very tired of it (but not stopping now). The mother ship, SBC and the NCAA are on board. The corner is turned. ULM administration realized it. Yet CSN can't move on.

If sites like RP and Barks and Bytes can auto correct, respectfully, I don't buy "we can't". You say certain curse words on some sites, blank appear, other auto phrases appear...but this site it cannot. Sorry, not buying it. Heck, even ULM's old Scout site banned the name of what is know as "TOS" since it kicked out posts with TOS's name.

Yep.. not privy to anything in the background yet you keep speaking as if you do.

This is a message board yet you want us to start protecting brands like we run an official publication? You can't equate ESPN/NCAA/SBC with CSN.

Its not that we "can't" do it.. we just won't go down that road.

You can accept that fact or find another medium.

Naw, the biggest reason Cajun fans stay away is the constant lack of policing mutts and the name game. Cajun fans stand their ground when confronted on the name issue and off goes the thread to smack every time. i've been told by many not worth the effort.

Mods could fix some of that by autocorrect to the SBC media guide recognized name but I'm sure they'd get overruled by above. So it just keeps one of the larger fan bases, like them or not, off this site.

Cajun fans are their own worst enemy when it comes to the name game. They are so easy to stir up, and stirring up another fan base is always fun. If they would learn to gloss over every time some said ULL, ULaLa, Lafayette and not react, the name calling would stop. The only reason it is harped on is because it's so easy to get a rise out of them red bellied fools.

I've never gotten a reaction out of another fan base when taking stabs at them like I do from those kids that go to school at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. And that is the correct name of the school.
Well, their tactics have gotten them a long way down the road. I see them called "Louisiana" more and more every year.

Advising them to stop insisting on it is probably bad advice.

Its a good strategy and has paid off.

However, if they are going to use this strategy, then they can't just get peeved and run away and it can't be "too much trouble".

If it is "too much trouble" then you lost...stop trying.

Cajuns are never going to "win" the battle as long as they permit others to see it is a simple way to get their goat.

In internet land letting people know it pisses you off is the fastest way to insure they do it over and over for the chuckle of watching the reaction. Meanwhile the rest of us are stuck knowing yet another thread is going to go off the rails and not be worth opening.

One would think, but I've seen more and more references to Louisiana lately in lists, blogs, clickbait articles, tweets, etc. I'm not sure our message board trolling actually has that much real impact on what they are called.

Yeah I'm glad the GS-U thing was settled for the most part. So many other things to talk about than getting stuck on the name game.

With the GS Baseball cap becoming super popular thanks to Cole Swindell, I think a lot of us have settled into the GS moniker. Remind me of schools like Ga Tech, Boston College, and Notre Dame who also prefer the two letter acronym. That's great company to be in. On the flip side, I will never refer to State as GSU. As far as I'm concerned the two Georgia schools in the Sun Belt are GS and GAST.

OK guys. No more nicknames for anyone. It's all just too hurtful. If you violate this, I will send you a stern PM.

Troy fans came back out of the wood work when they improved and UL fans took their place in the shadows.

GS fans are here. Who I have seen a huge decrease from the first year is ULL and TXST fans.

Merely the calm before the storm. The number of unique traffic sessions is now marching steadily upward every week, it's just the sessions are quite a lot shorter than during the season. In other words ... the band is starting to show up but there isn't anything to play for yet.

Now see what we have done. Caused the MOD's to call in the TOP DOG. GTW.

Now he is going to get upset because I call him a dog which upsets GT fans which he is counted as a member of the Yellow Jacket Club.

That's what happens when you have the worst season since the 90s. Hoping fans start showing back up as the team improves over the next 3-4 years.

Don't look at me. I thought the conversation was dead this morning, came back from a day on the road and found it didn't.

I blame Georgia Southern.

No, you can't say balls on bobcatfans.

A line has to be drawn somewhere.

Other words that are recently forbidden: Win, bowls, even-matched.
