In fairness to the point about Pitt...

Pitt also beat Clemson. We shouldn't forget that.

I'd be shocked if Clemson lost to Penn State, but I don't think it's a stretch to say they might have given them a better game than Ohio State did. I don't think it would have been particularly close though. Maybe more like the Clemson/OU game we saw from the previous year. CU had too many weapons last year to be slowed down by much of anyone.

Correct -- opinion being the key word there.

Kap is trying to pretend that it is a fact, childishly.

And don't forget that the Pitt game wasn't Penn State's only loss. Michigan curbstomped Penn State, 49-10.

It's silly to say that Penn State was better than Ohio State based on an upset win keyed by a fluke play. No reasonable person claimed that Ole Miss was better than Alabama in 2015 just because Ole Miss upset Bama that year.

More silly to pretend that just because the winning score was "fluke" (bulls___) that we can actually say that it was a 70-0 blowout for Ohio St.

Clemson blows Penn State out by 40+.

Because they would care more about that game than that NC State travesty?

I'm not saying Penn State was a better team. I'm saying it's not a stretch to say PSU might have given Clemson a better game. I'm not even saying they would have, just that they might have.

You mean the game where NC State was dominated in the statistics despite Clemson's leading rusher being knocked out of the game by an uncalled targeting penalty?

Bowl season Clemson beats Penn State by a larger margin of victory than the 31 points they beat Ohio State.

See guys!! Points don't actually mean anything, statistics are what really matters!

Clemson wins a classic game, 28-24.

As Vince Lombardi once said, "Statistics are for losers." And that's about how much they matter and just about the only people to which they matter are sports writers and losers.
