Until we get healthy this is just who we are right now.

Oh and we don't play any defense either and it showed. Bad defense plus streaky offense = doom on many nights.

Better days are ahead for you. I like your coach. And it's hard going from Bruiser's style to Spiker's. Completely different philosophy that impacts how your program recruits and plays on BOTH ends of the floor.

CB was absolutely fired up the second half; the small crowd allowed everyone in the building to hear him scream at players when up by nearly 20 points. He wasn’t okay with beating a bad team, it seems he felt they could’ve and should’ve won by 40.

He also knew we aren't going to shoot 60 % very often in the CAA. Can we win games when we shoot 40 %, as may very well happen against the Towson's and Charleston's of the league? That's likely what he wants to feel good about with this team.

100%. Hopefully we can. Just got to put together Delaware defense and today's offense.

I like C.B. a lot. I get the collective frustration, and I'm not trying to open a can of worms, but I appreciate his perspective on the game and candor.

He is a likable dude for sure. And he appears to be learning from some of his mistakes, that's positive.

I think that his 7 minute presser last night gave pretty good insight to his defensive mindset, his understanding of our deficiencies, and his preference to play man. In a closer conference game, I think he is willing to zone more, but long-term he wants to rely on solid man-to-man defense.

Interestingly, CofC gave up 78 to Delaware last night. I don't feel like we've turned a corner by any stretch, but there are some positive signs.

I honestly am giving him more of a chance that you might give me credit for. I just hate losing, and lack of progress. And until recently, IMO, we had both. We have some positives to build off recently, hopefully, we keep building.

I think we all know that for the most part. It's been a tough year for all of us as we had 3 years of success we hadn't had for a decade then the start of this season happened. There's going to be frustrations that boil over, attitudes, etc. We don't have a coach to tell us all to shut up and figure it out our differences in our dorm room. We all have slightly differing opinions. We're grown adults. End of the day though, we ALL want whats best for the team, coaches, and university. Like it or not, we're emotionally tied to each other.

There's been some positives. It's a brutally, physical conference. We're probably going to take a few more steps back during the process as the young guys adjust to a style of basketball they've never seen. However, I have faith that McGrath can get the job done.

We've seen flashes of it this year, so I agree. But the reason why Bruiser's teams late in his tenure were bad as well was because they stopped playing defense. The transition hasnt been as drastic as it appears on paper. Bruiser had a bunch of willing guys who wanted to run but werent allowed and didnt play defense. So taking that into letting them run while still not playing defense wasnt a huge shift. The mentality shift is definitely a change, but the play is not. We still struggle from a talent standpoint.

I think most are on board with Spiker and how he handles everything, it is all about can he get the right players here to execute it. It is year 3 and we are seeing some flashes, so there is promise, but we are now on 5 straight terrible years, which wears on a program and its fans, even when positives can be seen.

RE: Drexel
The fact he wants to play man but plays zone says a lot about his maturation as a coach. I watched Duke press and play zone the other day against FSU, knowing that Coach K is a m-m guy.

I think he felt comfortable staying with m-m because of the big lead we had most of the game. I also feel confident he would have gone back to the zone if he needed to. Zone also protects Cacok from getting in foul trouble, and playing so much in the 1st half allowed him to go into the 2nd half with only one foul.

We seem to have settled in with Cacok, Bryan, Fornes, Taylor and Talley to start, which is exactly who should start. Gary seems to have the most consistent game overall off the bench, with Estime contributing in spurts. Beyond those two, our bench is almost non-existent. Zone helps protect those starters from fouls as well.

It will be interesting to see how we fare against Towson with two bigs in the post compared to last year. Bryan seems to have improved a great deal on offense and rebounding under this staff. He can't jump, but he is finishing at the basket stronger and getting better position to grab boards. Those two have become tough to handle in the paint. However, averaging only 6 points per game puts a lot of pressure on the guards and Cacok to score. If he could get close to 10 ppg., it would help a lot. We are currently getting 23 points and 19 rebs per game from those two. Not bad. If Kalina could just hold down the fort for 10 minutes per game, it would help tremendously.

Overall, we're trending in the right direction with a thin margin of error.

It can be really hard to defend for 40 minutes in a close game but with a big lead it is all most impossible. They played tough for 40 vs Delaware and for the first half vs Drexel,I see that as a huge improvement over any team Keatts coached while he was here.
I like the call at the end of the Delaware game but the shot was off-it happens. I see the kids playing with some heart and having fun which makes it fun for the spectators as well.

I agree with Mullet. This team has the ability to play better than they have. And it looks like they're headed in the right direction. But overall, it's going to be a long season. This is where we need to be patient and give McGrath a chance to bring in the type of players he wants for his system to succeed and get us back on track.
