Yup.
Like when I shut up our resident union stooge in reference to teacher's starting salaries by showing based on cost of living and what they paid in union dues Ohio's union teachers actually brought home less than South Carolina's non-union teachers.

In regards to COL, I had a friend that had moved down here from Lawng Gisland bout a dozen years ago. He worked for Philip Morris and they moved HQ and employees here in a consolidation of some sort.
We were chatting at a kids practice or school thing and I asked if he liked the area, what neighborhood he and the wife and kids had moved in to etc.
He tells me they were a little anxious about how things would go/be with the change in scenery, how the kids would adjust etc. but then he came to check things out before agreeing to the move.
Coming to look around, he realized he could sell his 1950's style ranch in New York, buy brand new in a golf course community a 4500 sq foot, 3 car garage joint, pay cash and still put money in the bank.
He took the new gig 8am Monday morning.
shhhhhhhhhh what are you doing man. it sucks down here. its turrible.
Derrrrrr.
Yup, good point.
slowly, but most assuredly, the south will rise again

No, but they did warn him about the automatic 20 IQ point drop he would personally endure.
