Yeah I'm not sure how successful they'll be selling those tickets, even at a lower price. It still irks me though.

I definitely think that's part of the point. But it's also clearly a marketing thing.

actually that was THE point. using it as a marketing tool is just a side benefit.

Right there with you. I am a season ticket holder, signed a 15 year note for funding of the new athletic facility and I am still paying on my commitment to bring it back and no tickets.

what web site and promo code did you use to get in?? I havent had any luck this morning

I logged into UAB's ticket website about 9:45 AM and about 2 minutes before kept refreshing it until I got the option to add two tickets. It was super slow and thankfully I didn't lag out.

During presale, I tried to do the code only and wasn't logged in and I got nada.

Thanks, I tried similarly starting early also but it just never worked for me. Im on the 'waiting list' for leftovers.

Same here, I never was able to get in. Luckily a friend of mine was able to get in so I will be able to use their extra ticket.

This was supposed to be a celebration and a reward for those that have fought so hard to bring the program back, as was explained to me by the foundation.

What it turned into was a cluster ****

First we were told that you could get one peer season ticket.
Then it changed to only two per season ticket holder but they along with donors would get priority on tickets.
Then we find out season ticket holders and donors only received a shot at tickets if they signed up through NAS (which allowed anyone to sign up, even if you were an Eskimo)
Then I found out that season ticket holders were limited to two seats while the average person off the street could order four with a small fee.

This could have been handled more efficiently in a way to accommodate the once it was put on for in the first place and still allow the general public to have a nice contingent.

I was told the link from the email was bogged down, but if you went to the main UAB page and went in that way you got straight in. Almost like a backdoor

20,000 tickets... gone.

I need two if anyone has extras.

I will say that it's kind of frustrating this afternoon seeing all the people in my social media circles (some who were vocally against UAB coming back) bragging about their tickets while there are plenty of UAB folks that couldn't get their hands on them.

It's all good though, I guess. Hopefully this is just the first of many high profile UAB athletics events.

The moral of the story is NEVER EVER do anything nice for UAB fans

I guess they should have searched everyone's social media history for anti UAB bias before deciding if they were worthy of a free ticket.
