Kari injured at FIBA U20 European championship
Apparently Drexel's bad luck with injuries continues as Kari Jonsson got hurt playing for Iceland in the European u20 championship. I couldn't find anything specific other than it was bad enough to knock him out for the remainder of the tournament. You can see the injury here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RnN7Ozg...2&index=18
It happens at 15:37 of the video. He landed on a foot of one the Turkish players and appeared to be in a lot of pain. He limped off the court but could be seen laying in the corner for quite a while. He would eventually be carried to an ambulance. http://www.eurohoops.net/en/fiba/481660/...mpionship/

Hopefully it is not anything too serious and he will be back playing by the fall.

There is video of all the games in the tournament on youtube so one can watch him in action for a full game against France.

Good news. It looks like the injury may not have been that serious, as Kari was able to play in Iceland's game today. He played 17 minutes (scoring 15 points) in a blowout win versus Sweden.

I watched the game against Sweden and didn't think Kari was showing noticeable effects from the injury (which I would assume was probably just a sprained ankle). His minutes were limited and he didn't start though. They were actually down 13-2 when he came in midway through the first quarter. He scored 8 points in the remainder of the quarter helping them to get the lead. The final score was 73 - 39. Kari led the team with 15 points and had an impressive plus/minus of 30 in 17 minutes of play.

He was not shooting well from 3, but I think it is a good sign that he still found a way to put points on the board. Iceland will play Israel tomorrow in what should prove to be a tougher test. Hopefully he doesn't get injured any further. International ball is certainly different but it seems like having the opportunity to play competitively in the summer is a good thing.

Rough one for Kari and Iceland today losing by 20 to Israel. Kari had 4 points shooting 0 for 6 from 3.

I did notice this on the FIBA page though. Apparently Frank Elegar is doing well in his pro career over there

He could still be feeling the affects of the sore ankle?

I think that was likely the case given the minutes that he played in the later games. He did hit a couple threes today.

They lost the last three games to finish 8th in the tournament. They lost some close games, but i think for the most part they will be satisfied being such a small country playing in the A division for the first time.
