Basketball looking grim?
Don't know exactly how these things work, but in past years in May and June there would be a string of press releases about players signing letters of intent with UTRGV. Not seeing it this year.

On the men's side, seems like a lot of transfers out and not many coming in.
Green, Nwabuzor, Loy, Jones, and that freshman that is leaving before he ever started.

On the women's side, Goff graduated, Kjartansdottir going professional, Peters suspended, etc.

RE: Basketball looking grim?
I think we may be in the best position we have been in a while. Nwabuzor was more of a last minute bandaid. Jones I could see from the start was not a D1 player. Loy I thought did ok but I guess he was also a last minute bandaid. Johnson was more his fault for not keeping up his grades. There's no gain nor loss here. Green was a gut punch but can't really fault him for being home sick after what he's been through.
Now that all the fat has been trimmed we bring in Bowie and Levi who are some of the top players in the state. Terry Winn is able to play once conference play starts. Then we just got Jordan Jackson who looks like a major pick up. We also got a 7 footer. I'm not sure if he'll get a lot of playing time though. I think we'll finally have a winning season this year.

I try to pay attention to the womens side as well but it's hard to keep up when nothing gets reported. They may be a middle of the pack team this year.
