No inside information here either, just making some assumptions from what has taken place. It is possible that he may end up somewhere like Richmond.
They are still looking for Grad transfers for next year and might be willing to take him on for the "sit year" and have him for the year after that. They certainly play a similar style of offense and it is (
despite what some on this board would only grudgingly admit ) a solid academic school. Also, what about Hampden-Sydney (Dee Vick, anyone?), a solid school. He could play right away.
On a couple other notes, the NCAA is still processing the Additional Year Waivers (
you hear about one every few days or so), so hopefully Rimmer's will be decided soon.
This is,
again, not written in stone, but a couple of my recruiting sources are saying he will be here, one way or the other, next season, either as a Grad Transfer (player) or Grad Asst. (part-time coach/student), depending on how the waiver is decided.
AGAIN, nothing is
done, until the paperwork is signed, so, it's a
bit of hope, but nothing to solidly count on yet. People DO change their minds.
Several schools, like us and Richmond are STILL looking for help for next year and, reportedly, even
more names are hitting the Grad Transfer lists now, so, maybe something pops our way late. The waivers and player decisions have to be made fairly soon, so the player can be ready to enroll in classes (or summer school) when necessary.
Keep your fingers crossed for some good news and everyone have a safe Memorial Day weekend.
