Details of what is permitted as bags over so many inches, propane cylinders no large than 20 lbs etc.
https://umassathletics.com/sports/2018/8...y-101.aspx

May need to update below and will check back later and see, but off to vacation.

This is a short summary of game day links from UMass and others as TripAdvisor etc. The 2017 Football Gameday 101 and the changes for 2017 are the most important for game day atmosphere and explains parking. There are some links on places to eat and to stay and finally the Basketball Hall of Fame and at least one other family activity. Personally live 25 miles away and ask others to contribute.

For 2018 some changes regarding parking and will update more later.
Lot 22 is free to season ticket holders and assume for individual advance paid parking.
Lot 33 is for game day cash only parking.
Lot 14 for RV and South Loop are available and assume available for advance paid parking.
Lot 11 and Stadium Drive are paid lots and available to season ticket holders and additionally require a $50 donation to the Minutemen Cub

Please note, the Commonwealth Club has been moved to the new South Terrace Area.

Here is a link and a new, Jul 12th video on game day and changes for 2017, which includes charging $5 for parking in advance and $10 for game day.
Hope you can make.

Adding some additional links and generally eat at the Hanger, which is in walking distance to McGuirk. Have not gone there immediately after a football game thou and like the dry rubs, believe it's a cajun something rub and one of the porter 22 oz beers.

The Amherst Guide from a specific event has some info but would ignore some of it. But it gives nice price ranges on some the the restaurants.

Lodging, have been told the HotelUmass is very good and on campus. It's a far walk to the stadium and would probably be best to drive. There is parking by Campus Center and connects below ground and above ground.

The Hampshire Hospitality Group has nice options and well regarded and out on route 9 about a mile from the stadium.

In nearby Northampton and highly recommend the Eastside Cafe. The seafood chowder is excellent and in fact everything I've tried has been really good but recommend reservations.

Quote:In a Facebook post, Alex Kent wrote, "In Antonio's Pizza in Amherst today. Can you guess who it is? Yup: Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart, and their son. Totally down to earth: he gladly signed a paper plate for another patron, an older woman who is a big fan. Friendly, solicitous, really sweet. His star rises in my estimation. I guess they are taking their son to the Nike tennis camp at Amherst College but that's only a guess."

Quote:For the first time ever inside McGuirk Alumni Stadium, beer and wine will be available for purchase to all fans (21 and older). Beer and wine will also be available inside the Mullins Center for the 2018-19 Season.

Those looking for a bite to eat during the game are in luck, as our award winning Dining Services provides all of our concessions inside McGuirk Alumni Stadium. They take great pride in creating menus that highlight the region, feature locally-sourced ingredients, and bring a true dining experience to add to an already great game day!

Updating a few links and repeating as well and the visitor side is basically in the teens. How ever some UMass folks do like the Prime seats on that side.
