Sorry if I’m a little jaded about the US’s pathetic inability to do anything on the International stage. Even with the improved talent that we seem to have.

Switzerland has been getting pretty decent results lately btw, so there's no shame in that loss. They've now won 5 straight since drawing with Spain 1-1. And prior to the Spain game, they only lost 2-1 to current #1 Belgium. Granted, the game against Belgium was only a friendly, but possession was basically even and the Swiss actually had more shots.

No one has mentioned the US was on an 9 match undefeated streak before losing to the Swiss., a higher ranked team.

Berhalter's tactics, team selection, and general in-game adjustments have been borderline malpractice. He clearly doesn't have the imagination needed to get this talent performing at the level they can, one can only hope we don't squander the team we could have to the level that we have so far.

It's on with Mexico on Sunday evening. Granted, neither team looked all that great in their respective semifinals (Mexico won 5-4 on penalties) and the US needed a last minute goal to get by Hondurus. Doubtful Adams will be back for the US so expect more midfield mayhem but it looks like Mexico will also be missing some players. Hopefully the US pulls it out, but who knows?

surprisingly, Berhalters best attribute seems to be recruiting dual-nationals. Hell, he may be better at it then Klinnsman. I'll give him a pass on team selection since most of his formative time has been spent in the pandemic, and we've had a lot of injuries to work around.

I'm no expert on tactics but i agree there, and wish we would move to a simpler system to let our guys' talent shine. Maybe a back 3 would help highlight the strengths of Dest/Robinson. In game adjustments appear to be non existant.

I know this has nothing to do with the conversation currently being had but I need to get this off my chest: soccer/football transfer media is hot GAHBAGE. Very few things in sports grind my gears more.

I don’t pay attention to it at all. I’ve actually gotten to the place in my life that I don’t care about it in any sport until an individual takes the field/pitch.
