So...all of this Pulisic drama at Chelsea has been interesting, as have been the results from Liverpool lately. EPL trying to get back into the global news cycle? 03-lmfao

Pulisic needs to stay healthy. Bayern apparently inquiring as to his services. As for Liverpool, they are just injured, period. Will be interesting to see what happens if the finish out of the top 4.

Ha! What the heck! Swans are my Championship team so I was kind of excited when Morris was signed. No sooner than he gets to Wales he tears his ACL. Hope this doesn't hamper promotion prospects. Swans currently in 4th with two games in hand.

U23s fail to qualify for Olympics, again. Didn't help that lots of those qualified to play for the U23s are actually playing for the US Men's National Team.

Forgive my Olympic soccer ignorance but I keep seeing it is an U23 tournament but I could have sworn our goalie (Tim Howard) the last couple times we were in, was definitely not under 23. Landon Donovan was definitely not under 23.

You're allowed 3 players over the birthdate restriction on the Olympic Squad...though the last time the US played in the Olympics (2008) they only had one, Brian McBride.

Also, I think that technically for this particular qualifying players were allowed to be 24 due to COVID, etc. Didn't matter in the end though.

Yeah, they expanded to include any individual who wouldve been eligible by the U23 standards for the Olympics last year, so 24 year olds were eligible. Truth be told, if we wanted to get into the Olympics, McKennie, Pulisic, Reyna, Musah, Adams, Dest, Aaronson, Richards, and Robinson wouldve been playing in the Qualifying. I'm not worried about Olympic competition, there are plenty of big countries who don't ever play in the Olympics.

Jason Kreis had some questionable talent identification. There's more than enough talent in the U23 system to beat Honduras.

We have this issue with the senior team, but we haven't played a meaningful game in years so no one notices.

I expect us to fail to qualify for the WC as well.

Nah, theUS isn't a joke. Does it suck to not qualify, yes. Is it the end all be all, absoultely not. Considering clubs aren't obliged to let their players play in Olympic qualifiers and all our good U23s are now on the Senior Team, things like this happen. I will say the experience would have been nice.

Mostly true but there is something to be said about certain MLS teams not releasing their players for this tourney. Some teams did some didn't. That needs to be looked at considering that MLS gets a sweetheart deal from USSoccer.

Yeah, once you actually read up on who was playing vs. who could've been eligible, it was pretty clear that this wasn't exactly our A...or even C...U-23 team. I'm not worried one way or the other, as at the end of the day, there may be one person on that non-qualifying Olympic team who ever sees the field in a game of consequence for the USMNT.

I’m not so sure it’s going to suck, but it’s the end of the Champions League’s stature as the top club competition. This becomes guaranteed money for the “big” clubs without worrying about the Leicester’s of the world stealing a clubs payday.

It’s kind of the BCS for European soccer.

Still seems unlikely that the Super league happens to me. The vast majority of the fans of the clubs are against it, and there's no turning back for them if they do it. How many players will be willing to give up playing for their national team? These clubs could be signing their death certificates.

I didn’t know they would have to give up playing for their national team. Why would they have to do that?
