RE: Spring Game
Offensive stats pretty impressive.

QBs were 24-44 for 312 yards with 3TDs and no interceptions.

RBs carried 14 times for 84 yds.

Hefter looked the most decisive. He knew where he should go, set his feet and let it go. This is from a kid who enrolled as a regular student and decided to tryout. Pretty impressive. Yes it was against the two's, but the last drive had the first team secondary.

I had thought Hefter was a preferred walk on

My info could be wrong, but I don't think it is. Burdick was a preferred walk on QB and is now a WR. That might be who you are thinking of.

There were a couple articles in the Post that stated he would walk on to the team but I never know with those situations because its so murky.

RE: Spring Game
He was a school walk on just Owusu. Both just showed up in the fall and tried out. Look at Hefters HS stats and ask why.

RE: Spring Game
Hefter and Owusu were not guaranteed roster spots, and were not among those invited to preseason camp. They had to try out when school opened. Owusu had not planned to play sports in college.

RE: Spring Game
They both had a nice game. This game really gave the less experienced guys a lot of reps. These two among others made the most of the opportunity.

Owusu is the young man whose brother plays at Stanford or something, right? I recall an amazing article about him...I'll have to look for it.
