Legislation proposed in NC that would require any state supported school to immediately announce intention to withdraw from a conference affiliation, if a conference withdraws a championship from the state. In addition, all revenues earned from the conference would have to be kept in a separate escrow account until it reaches the equivalent of any penalty designated for conference withdrawal.

All this fuss over a bill that says men use the mens room and women use the ladies room. It seems insane.

Or, alternately, all this fuss about a bill that didn't need to exist. This was a "solution" without a problem that is deservedly blowing up in the bill sponsors' faces.

I agree, not sure what this was designed to be a solution for.

What I don't understand, what exactly is the argument AGAINST mens bathrooms/locker rooms for men only and same for women? Who has a problem with that and why?

The argument is that having people that identify as women use men's bathrooms and people that identify as men use women's bathrooms also doesn't make sense. This bill was introduced to scare people into thinking that there are transgender predators trying to sneak into other bathrooms to apparently commit crimes. Also, the bill was introduced to make transgender people's lives at least a little bit worse because they're different.

The solution is quite clear. Get rid of urinals (and troughs...hey do they still exist after Zable?) make bathrooms all stalls with locking doors. Transgender or not, if theyre behind the locked door its their business. If this is done, do they really even need separate M/W bathrooms anyway?

This should protect those scaredy cats who worry that someone will come to get them while they are peeing.
