That's the point, SPORT. Your crappy skewell BEGGED on bended knees to rejoin the "Belch" and the "Belch" said, "Well, hmm... NO!!!! We've separated ourselves from your a-hole alumni, AD staff and boosters and since you've been gone, we're leaps and bounds away from your sorry ass selves and .... um... how do we put this lightly? Oh, we've GOT it! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!! NOT EVER!!!" (paraphrased)

Pat your Tech-assed selves on the back. AFIAK, you are the ONLY school the entire SBC would love to see utterly FAIL (!!!), as in crash and BURN. And it ain't got a damned thing to do with your school's athletic prowess either.

RE: Yet more realignment
La Tech fans keep claiming they are increasing their separation from the Belt schools, but wasn't their Carnegie Research ranking lowered just recently? Making them more on par with SBC schools (ULM went up a level so the the gap has actually closed between the schools not widened).

But yea they are so close to that P5 call up. 07-coffee3

I knew a La Tech fan before GS joined the belt and La Tech was in the WAC. Asked him if thought his school would join the SBC and he was adamant that they would drop athletics before rejoining the SBC. Sounds like Tech dropped a MOAB on all bridges leading to the SBC and the feeling is mutual.

Have fun in the new WAC er CUSA. Sounds like a lot of rumbling over there.
SBC is fine and would only want a few schools from the current CUSA to join us.
I prefer forming a conference more likely to raise revenue than just cost travel cost. If a more regional format is the way then fine, but I've seen some of the models and they suck for GS fans.

That is actually my nightmare divisions. To be in a division with the F_U's mad not with USM or UAB. We would lose all of our rivals except for the budding Troy rivalry.

That would be horrible for us. We'd lose all our rivalries and be stuck flying to every game.

Yeah, Tech in the same conference with Laffy and La-mons. Wait for it. We'll be in the SEC before that happens.

Well, first of all, you can't separate MTSU and WKU.

Secondly, why are all of these schools being included?

And, what about UTA and LR?

Here's what I would do:

League 1: Marshall, ODU, Charlotte, WKU, MTSU, FIU, FAU, UAB, GaST, GaSOU, App, CCU

League 2: Texas State, UNT, UTSA, Rice, Arkansas State, Tech, Louisiana, USM, Troy, USA, LR (non football) UTA (non football)

If this is all about consolidating for the sake of travel costs (and remember, we're talking about traveling volleyball, soccer, tennis, etc. in addition to football, basketball and baseball) then we've got to make the geography.

Sorry UTEP and NMSU. You're just too far out there for teams on the eastern side of a western league. Ruston is closer to Pittsburgh than it is to El Paso.

ULM? Time to poop or get off the pot. If you can't show that you're ready to be competitive, budget wise, you'll have to do something else.

No Liberty, UMASS or James Madison. Quit adding teams to make numbers work.

My only qualm was dealing with the two Florida schools. Marshall and ODU to Florida is quite a trek. I left them in, but I wouldn't be married to it.

Since UAB hasn't been in a league with Troy and USA in recent history, I had no problem placing them in separate leagues.

Oh, and UNT needs to get a baseball program. Eleven teams for baseball absolutely sucks.

RE: Yet more realignment
I see all of these regional re-alignment plans as a joke but a commonality I've noticed is that Arkansas State is always placed with the Texas schools. I do not recall any that don't have that grouping. stAte is closer to the LA, MS, and AL schools than any TX school. It would be better to have LaTech with Texas as it also keeps them separate from Monroe.

RE: Yet more realignment
What makes people think these ideas with more two divisions will happen? How do you even decide the conference champion (and can you do it legally)? I don't think that's happening and frankly I hope it doesn't.
