He is the best I've ever seen with alumni, donor, fans, players, recruits, etc., and that will translate to excitement throughout the program and recruiting at a very high level.

I don't anticipate immediate moves to ACC championships like we had at UNCW in the CAA, but his teams will win games they haven't in the past, and they will compete in the top 1/3 of the conference.

I think he can do a great job at NCSU as well...BUT let's face it, he was out-game coached by Tony Bennett on Thursday. I have perceived him to be stubborn about certain things, and that stubbornness has come back to bite him from time to time. Sticking to man to man when UVA was driving to the basket at will probably cost UNCW a game we should have won. Bennett adjusted, Keatts would not.

At $2.2 million per year, watch how short their patience is with that....

And the whole CHUCK situation, his stubbornness about that situation cost us dearly on Thursday

That's something we can't do anything about anymore. We have to pull ourselves up by our boot straps. Together. Then continue to support and play Seahawk basketball.

Leave me alone I'm hungover and bitter :)

Beer is the better option. You know "hair of the dog" plus if you don't drink in the morning you can't say you drank all day.
We'll get through this. Trust in Jimmy. I have confidence that he will find a good coach. After all he landed Keatts.

Monster rehab is the trick! The hangover is worth it I won the tournament and 250 :) my consolation prize for being a Seahawk the last two days. Took out a state fan in the final 4 too. Lol

Keatts to NC State
Its easy to underestimate just how tough it is to have/install a "Plan B" mid-game or even midseason. We probably never even practiced a zone, so how the heck would we plug it in in the middle of a tournament game?

Keatts rolled with the system that got us 29 wins and also a 15-point lead on UVA. I can't fault him for "stubbornness" at all.

Never even practicing a zone would be an act of coaching negligence.

By the way, UVA never practiced a 5 guard lineup (so said Bennett in his post game presser) but they plugged it in in the middle of a tournament game.

So coaches actually can improvise. Our "1 and 2 star players" were beating their "3 and 4 star players " like a drum . UVA improvised and that's why they won.

All we still had to do was make our free throws in the second half.

Absolutely, pretty sure it killed us in all our losses. We did much better down the stretch and it won us some games

Maybe Keatts will suck as the NCSU coach due to his inability to adjust. Time will tell.

RE: Keatts to NC State
hi guys. I read often. Never post.

Hate to lose Keatts but that's serious security for a man's family, even if it is in a place like state. I'd take Brownell back in a skinny minute. Style aside, he won. New hires are gambles and I'm not interested in another Buzz disaster.

Keatts will have his hands full up here. Let's wait and see. You can't blame Kevin because he got paid.

I don't blame him for getting paid, i blame him for going to a crap job when he could have gotten paid probably just as well in a better job

RE: Keatts to NC State
Bass wants nothing to do with the past successes of UNCW. Bringing Brad back would be a no win situation for him and us. I have heard some really stupid suggestions, like Joel Justus and Brett Blizzard. Brett is a legend but he is not going to step right into a head coaching job. He would have to start at the bottom somewhere.

Welcome to the boards. I can agree with that. I think we're all on edge right now because most everyone here was around for the Moss/Peterson catastrophes that followed Brownell.

Just trust that right now, this is a completely different administration running the show. One that wants to win and continue our CAA dominance. I am partial to 82 though. I'd love to be out of the CAA at this point. It's a one bid league that hurt our seeding this year.

Everyone knows my thoughts on the State job, but it really came down to LSU or State and State is clearly the better job there. IU is going to hire an established coach and Illinois probably doesn't allow him to take advantage of his Hargrave connections as much as staying in NC.

Of all of the jobs that were mentioned as potentially being open, Georgetown seemed like the absolute best scenario, but they gave JTIII another year for some reason.

to me it seems like he could have been in a much better spot with another year or 2 like the last 3. But it's tough to pass up the money, if he fails now, so what his family is set for life with 13.2 mil worth of Wolfpecker money

A lot of State people aren't thrilled about it.
