We beat them in Austin last year. Prior to that they had a 23 game streak.
After tonight, we have a streak going. The monkey is on their back...

Ha completely forgot about that, hopefully this years squad can put them away the other two times we play them this season.

Wouldn't feel bad about it . . Sam's pretty good, they got us earlier in the year .
It continues the sorry trend of our pitching staff. they 3 hit #4 tech one day then cant get anybody out the next..sam is 16-5 while uta muddles along at 11-11..we should be a little better than this year in and year out.

10-3 on the 13 game homestand we just concluded.
Not bad after the rough start to the season.

We lost another midweek game to the shock of no one. 11-9 overall, 11-4 on the weekend.

Huh, Maybe you guys would consider rescheduling your impending visit to San Marcos to a midweek series . . . .

We have basically a 2 man bullpen. Coaches try to get through the weekends using 5-6 pitchers max, so none of the guys that ever throw on weekends can pitch in midweek.
The result is a lot of Freshman and Sophomores trying to close games, it's not been pretty. The real amazing thing is that our midweek starter with his 24 ERA actually pitched well Wednesday. It was a Sophomore reliever who couldn't hold the 9th inning lead.

Young arms. .. . Tough position to be in, on the bright side .. . Throwing those guys into the fire, while painful now, may pay big dividends down the line.

We were really really fortunate to start an all freshmen weekend rotation two years ago and still have success although they took some lumps early in the season.

Yeah, that's the upside. One of our top 2 relievers this year was strictly a midweek guy until he beat some team called Texas State in the tournament last year. This year, he's allowed 1 run in 18 innings to teams not named Ole Miss.
The downside is that any injuries to our top 2 guys and we are cooked.

I'm here at the ball field for App vs TxSt and after speaking with Stroup's parents, they say it was 1000000 percent not a trap.

There is absolutely no reason to try and make that play. If he does the intelligent thing and keeps the ball in fromt of him the Apps win 3-1.
Well, we'll just thank ya kindly, and hope that our good fortune holds the rest of this series.
