I would have gone Riller over Daly for ROY but I can see why Ryan won

It seems like they just favored all upper classmen, even if their stats were worse.

Complete injustice that Wright-Foreman didn't get 1st team. He has carried Hofstra in a lot of games just like Dixon has for us.

Oh, look, we could've had a forward and guard on the All Rookie team. That's nice.

The one I was surprised with was Riller. I only saw him play a few times, but he's a player. I think the UNCW guards got too many of the first and second team slots. Cacock is better than third team also. Surprised that Rowley was the only one of our kids to make the academic team.

Congratulations to all our guys.

Omar's career figures in points-rebounds-assists-steals are remarkable;
one of only three players in the nation to have 1500+ points, 500+rebounds, 100+steals, and 400+assists. Surely, one of the most complete players in Tribe history.

Daniel's one-year performance in all categories also ranks among the best in W&M annals..he could just as easily been CAA POY.

And how about Mr. Knight...despite playing around 15 minutes a game he led the league in blocked shots per game and field goal percentage as a freshman.

Rowley is graduating in three years...he must have piled on the hours. He's back next season so I imagine he's going to our MBA school.

Rowley entered the college with enough credits from High School to be a sophomore in terms of hours. He may well have taken larger loads, but my guess is that he had between 30-45 credit hours coming in.

What hurt Riller is his lack of assists/rebounds and Chealey getting the attention.

Agree there is no reason that Cacock didn't at worst get 2nd team (probably deserved 1st).

No way Flemmings should have been 1st team. I would have swiched him with Cacock.

I just noticed that Wright-Foreman went to the "High School of Construction" in NY. That has to be one of the most interesting names I've ever seen for a high school ........

One thing for sure is that our team is recruiting really well right now. Pemberton definitely is a player. Knight is a beast and just scratching the surface and Pierce is probably going to breakout next year and came in with more accolades than Knight.

One thing that will be an interesting comparison over the next 3 years is going to be seeing how Matt Milon and Eli Pemberton's careers play out. I know we all begrudge Eli for bailing on us, and rightly so, but I think Milon is going to really be a huge player for us and who knows, might be just as get a good, if not better, for us, over the next 3 years.

Hopefully we can land some of these high skill guys we are recruiting for 2018 and sneak one more in for 2017 or a really good transfer. Keep the Movement going!

Omar's career numbers are relatively close to John Lowenhaupt's (though JL never shot a 3 pointer). With a game or four to go, Omar is behind by 82 points, behind in rebounds 669 to 624, in assists 369 to 313, and in steals 160 to 117. Not saying that he'll see his number hanging from the rafters, but he's in the conversation.

Lowenhaupt was about 6'4" (listed at 6'5") and was the best defensive player I've seen. He also played the 3 position. He definitely would have had three pointers. He was like Tarpey with more offensive game and less true athletic ability. By far the most valuable player in his era and well respected by the opposing coaches. Believe it or not, he was in the "faces in the crowd" in Sports Illustrated. Omar is good and was great in lots of games, but not even close to what Lowenhaupt did IMO.

I disagree. I'm usually surprised when our players actually make All-Academic teams. The academic rigor and lack of a significant curve at W&M likely keeps most of our athletes closer to an average class ranking. This isnt part of the computation; I believe they simply use GPA. Competing in a conference with many less challenging universities, I would expect our guys to rarely make the list.
