As an update, bricks are going up. They are also working on installing grandstand seating but don't have a camera view from that side.

From what I'm gathering from school releases, there won't be any online ticketing in the near future. They are holding back first come first served tickets that will be sold at the stadium ticketing facility for day of game tickets only. This is due to the different sections of the field being general admission only (grandstand, bleachers), the fact that the suites won't be available which pushes the suite holder tickets (200) down into the grandstand, and the large number of season tickets (stopped selling them at 500 more than last years 3004 total). The ticketing system normally lets you sell your tickets online through Ticketmaster, but that function is not available due to the GA status of seating. I know it's tough for folks coming from out of town, but it should only be for this year. I have to say even with the ongoing construction, the overall stadium may still be an impressive venue.

I have secured 3 tickets for the game on Saturday. I think we are getting into town early and eating lunch at Johnsons Boucaniere. We have thought about catching the basketball game after the baseball game. Any suggestions on cool sports bars or anything good to eat for Saturday afternoon/evening?

As far as sports bars go, Pete's on Johnston Street and Walk-Ons on Kaliste Saloom Road are good bets. Basketball is against our league champion UT Arlington. It's a team many think could make some noise in the NCAA tournament if they get there.
You'll love the Cajundome. They just did a 21 million renovation. Opposing teams think it looks like an NBA arena.

To keep you within walking distance, Agave Cantina is across Bertrand Drive from the athletic complex. Good amount of TVs in the place, good food, and good drinks too.

Deano's Pizza would also be a good choice for close to the stadium.

Forecast is showing rain for Sunday. Anyone heard any plans to make Saturday a doubleheader?

I see where the games will be on Ragin Cajuns all-access. Is this free or do I need to find a bootleg?

None that I've heard of. Entire playing surface is turf except for pitchers mound so rain won't cause field conditions to be unplayable. They may move up game time on Sunday if the forecast continues to call for higher rain chances later in the day like it is right now.

It has been a subscription service for years but I do not see anything about payment for this season. Softball is providing video streaming for home games this year for free. Baseball may be doing the same. With the ongoing construction, your viewing angles may not be great. It'll be a work in progress as we wrap up construction.

Think they do a 3 day membership where you could watch the series but I'd make sure it will be available. I saw an article saying the video board at the stadium won't be operational so don't know if the stadium video systems will be operational.

I'm guessing a result of construction. Our old seating capacity was 3755 and they froze season tickets this year at 3500 this year pending construction completion and final capacity. With the additional 800 in seating capacity, that puts the new capacity at about 4500 without the suites. When you reduce the capacity early in the season to accommodate suite tickets in the grandstand you have about 4300 capacity. They did send out that they were putting a temporary bleacher section down the third base line to accommodate an additional 200.

A little over 5,200 tonight.
