Great Wins For Tribe Swim Teams
Unremarked on these pages is the remarkable success of our men's and women's swim teams.
Both teams won CAA championships last night, the third consecutive title for the men and the second in a row for the ladies. Both teams set large numbers of school & CAA records in myriad events.
Coach Crespino and his staff do a fantastic job with this program...they get scant scholarship money, our pool facilities are not good (we have no diving boards) and we give away 25 points in every meet since, with no pool at our place, we enter no divers! Yet look at the results.
A tip of the hat to these young women and men and to the coaching staff.
Imagine what they could do with scholarship funding and a real, complete foot facility.

Absolutely! Has been amazing to see both men's and women's swim teams beat teams with much more well-funded swim programs.
And just to clarify, W&M's mens' and womens' swim teams currently offer $0 in athletic scholarships (the NCAA allows a full allotment of 9.9 for men and 14 for women, in D1).
The good news is, as part of William & Mary's billion-dollar 'For The Bold' campaign, the Tribe's swimming program could receive the full allotment of scholarships, as well as a $20 million Aquatics Natatorium. Details are in the link below ...

...fits in perfectly. Remember that Swim season is now, not the summer months.

As for the location of the proposed future Natatorium, I have no idea. Have heard through the rumor mill that future athletic facilities (i.e. track & field) may be located at the Dillard complex, near Plumeri. Seems to be more available land there. Anyone else heard of future plans at the Dillard complex?

That's correct. They're tearing down the Dillard Complex as it is. And putting the track, event field, and a grandstand out there. Along with some new storage buildings for arts and sciences. I'd bet no pool though.
