I really think Neal Brown is higher than 5th but needs another year to prove it.

RE: Best head coaches in the G5?
Not getting the love for Harsin.
He lost tie-breaker for his division this year, finished a game out the year before, he did win his first year there. He has six conference losses in his first three years, they had four the three years before. Three conference losses in 2015 is the most conference losses for Boise since 1998.
Didn't tear it up at AState either got whipped by a bad Memphis team, pizzed off the fans rolling over in his playcalling late against the Cajuns, went to the lockers down 10 at home to Georgia State, and lost the try try again game at WKU. Best game of the season was the GoDaddy and if he saw it he watched from his recliner in Boise.

I'm pretty sure he was in the HBO TV series "Ballers" with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson...

Harsin finished 2014 at Boise 12-2, ranked #16, and beat #11 Arizona in a bowl game. In 2015, were ranked at a few different points during the season, beating a bowl-bound Washington, beat Virginia, and won their bowl game. In 2016, beat a good Washington State and BYU, plus beat Oregon State. They were ranked most of the year, but somehow lost to a demoralized Baylor.
I can't say I've seen any other G5 coaches put together that resume thus far, so that's why I considered Harsin #1.

First team was full inherited. The 2015 team went 5-3 in the BigWACMountain West and that included a 26 point defeat to Utah State. Last year Baylor brought a six game losing streak to the bowl game and beat Boise by 19.
Of the last five coaches, I liked Harsin better on a personal level than any of the others and I admire that he fired himself as playcaller for AState and put Drinkwitz in there to salvage the season but I also know that a guy who wanted to run better between the tackles failed to sign any offensive lineman of any quality at AState, the best one he signed faded away because he wasn't good enough to play on a really bad offensive line.

1. Ken Niumatalolo - Navy
2. Craig Bohl - Wyoming
3. Rocky Long - San Diego State
4. Scott Satterfield - App State
5. Skip Holtz - Louisiana Tech
Mike Norvell from Memphis could make this if his coaching ability proves to be as good as his recruiting ability.
