It hasn't been announced yet, but a reliable source said Kevin is retiring.

Usually when "source" is used, it's implied that the person wishes to remain anonymous.

Good luck to Coach Rogers as he has been moving all over the country. He deserves to take it easy and relax.

He's not available as a position coach. Is he available as an offensive coordinator?

Other than Army beat guys there has been no official announcement of his hire from the school. He has posted nothing to his twitter of going to Army. It very well may have been his intention to coach wide receivers at Army until this possible opportunity presented itself. Why the hold up? As a new coach at Army, you'd think he'd want to hit the ground running. Me thinks things are moving behind the scenes. Even if Corley agreed in principle to coach at Army, no school is going to block a coach from a promotion. Especially at their alma mater.

Again, all speculation, but I think Corley would be the perfect coordinator to work with our talented young qbs. He's been in their shoes playing in that system. He has experience coaching running backs, wide receivers, and qbs. Not to mention brief experience as an OC. He is an excellent recruiter and bleeds green & gold. What's not to like?

To me, it's a no-brainer. Get 'er done.

Is this where I bring up how bad the QB play was in 2011 and 12 when he was QB coach and how Rogers got better play out of Caprio and Graham in 2013? And that UConn didn't score a TD when he was the OC at UConn?

I cannot speak for UConn because I never saw them play and don't know their personnel.

However, I was impressed by (my own subjective) sense that the offense improved considerably under Rogers. Rocco, perhaps your statistics can support this (or disprove it). What I do know is that our offense was one-dimensional in 2011, and utterly ineffective in 2012 and 2013.

So, I for one will be sad to see Coach Rogers go.

Do any of you know which year Jimmye stopped calling plays? Was it in 2013 when Rogers came on or did Kepa have a few years of playcaller duties?

Good idea. Brooks has been doing a great job as Dematha's HC.

So, I for one will be sad to see Coach Rogers go.

Graham, 2012: 45.7% completion, 8 TD, 6 INT, 6.11 YPA, 108.3 rating, 21.2 attempts/INT
Graham, 2013: 53.3% completion, 5 TD, 2 INT, 6.51 YPA, 116.2 rating, 76 attempts/INT

Caprio, 2012: 59.6% completion, 3 TD, 2 INT, 6.28 YPA, 122.8 rating, 28.5 attempts/INT
Caprio, 2013: 55.6% completion, 5 TD, 2 INT, 7.54 YPA, 128.2 rating, 67.5 attempts/INT

The passing game was by no means good in 2013, but Rogers came in and the QBs threw for more yards/attempt and cut way down on their INT totals. QBs with low INT totals was a solid trend under Rogers from 2013 until the first half of 2016 when Cluley was spraying passes like the Klobb from Goldeneye.

I understand. It was somewhat of a rhetorical question and also opening an idea that maybe he would want to come back to the burg after stepping down at CNU

I like Kelchner but we'd have to wrest him away from his associate AD job at CNU

RE: OC on the move?
MK has had some medical issues prior to his stepping down as Head Coach. He said his retirement from coaching had nothing to do with health issues. I am paraphrasing from an article in The Daily Press. It sees like he has a no pressure pisition at CNU and he probably does very job . Why leave and get back into 70 hour work weeks ?
One thing to remember is until Coach and or KR make the announcement all this is a rumor.

Didn't you just announce it?

Like I said, it's probably an unwritten rule not to discuss "inside" information on the message boards until it is announced by the program. But then it wouldn't be inside info.
