Being a douche isn't illegal so I don't see where Liberty would be penalized (by the government; the free market will likely penalize LU by choosing different schools to attend, support, etc.). However, if this is true and the emails are as poor in context as they are shown out of context here, then I don't know what I think should happen. Who hasn't said stuff like this through email about a coworker? I'm sure almost every other school president has said things like this or felt like this. It certainly is a bad look and I'd be okay with him stepping down over it but I'd like to see the fallout first to see how damaging it is to LU.

I will say the more information that comes out the more I’m on board with him stepping down. I’m not a huge fan anyways.

I don't think they would have apologized to Liberty if they later planned to investigate.

The "yet" absolutely does not mean it will happen no matter how much you and others may want it to. For example, I could accurately claim that you have not yet been arrested but that obviously doesn't mean you will be or that you are even remotely involved with anything warranting an arrest. It was a poor choice of words by the person and doesn't effect one way or another Liberty's odds of being sent a letter or whatever else happens.

Yes, saw this. Great job LU. It’s great to be the one stepping forward and extending the hand of peace to someone who has been knocked down and is trying to stand back up. Appears as though she is contrite and has seen things in a new light from the time she made her mistake a few years ago. I hope this continues to be the way we conduct business.
