Conference Foe as OOC?
Does the Sunbelt allow for conference members who do not play in a given year to play anyway as an out of conference game?

The ACC allows it. UNC plays Wake OOC. No idea if the Belt does

Yes, apparently so. It sounds like Louisiana is playing Troy next season in a tournament and it will be an OOC matchup since we don't play Troy next season as part of the new East and West divisional rule where you skip a year with every team.

I wonder if the Jags and Cajuns would do that for the 2018 baseball season. Or maybe even a home and home?

You can in baseball. It's not going to happen in football though.

I'd be 100% on board with that. I absolutely hate the idea of skipping our series with USA. Jags and Cajuns is the hands down best baseball rivalry in the conference. We have so much history.

I was asking more about football than the other sports.

If the Sun Belt would quit being silly and allow App, Troy, Arkansas State and Georgia Southern to play each other every season we would all be much better off.

Which of those teams does App have a losing record against?

You all have a very short memory. This series is tied at 1-1 last I checked. These games would be better for the schools themselves and the Sun Belt. It seems the conference leadership enjoys keeping the top of conference away from each other though.

Nevada and I believe NMSU played a non-conference game against each other in football while both were in the Big West.

There is no rule barring such, it just pretty much guarantees that the national websites will screw up the league standings by not noticing it isn't a conference game.

Doesn't look like the Jags and Cajuns have been able to work something out as of yet. That game vs. Troy is in 2019 when the teams do not play.

If for whatever reason App and GSU were not on each other's conference schedule, I would be glad to have the Eagles on App's non conference schedule.

In place of an FCS, of course. Wouldn't want to substitute them for a top tier G5 or home P5 game.
