RE: Drexel
Well, even with Jack sick, we got 24 and 9 out of the center position, just nothing from our caderie of 3 point shooters.

Tony: "embarassing performance....really disappointed in the effort."
At some point this season, some responsibility has to be taken by the head coach for not practicing hard and not playing hard in games. The expectation and tone is set by the coach, not just from lack of team leadership. Really hard to watch and stay behind these guys with the jekyl and hyde efforts.
Gutty effort from Jack tonight.
Sorry, but my only sure starters for Saturday would be Jack and Jamison.
Maybe before this season is gone, Tony will find the key button to this team's chemistry night in and night out.....

UD/Elon in OT ...
I think we beat Charleston on Sat.
We aren't going to be 7th. We have a 2 game lead on JMU. 6th maybe, but in functional reality there literally is no difference in finishing 3rd v. 6th other than the color of jersey we wear on Sat night and the section our fans are assigned to sit in.
We just need to figure out a way to be consistent. Who knows what will happen.

RE: Drexel
Ugly game. First Tribe game in a while I turned off in the second half out of pure disgust. After that 60% shooting effort a week or so ago, I knew we'd have a game where we shot crappily, just did not expect that against a team like Drexel, we could not make the proper adjustments to at least have better success.
Given all that has transpired, part of me wonders if this is just one of those years that we're just not destined to make it. First the whole Seacat incident, the longest concussion ever for Malinowski (I still don't think he's recovered), the bad loss to Hampton, guys missing meetings, issues with leadership, lack of effort in practice, didn't someone get mono?, Omar hurting his ankle, and a flu bug that I feel the elderly could recover faster from (Jack had it Friday and still has it now).

The issue is, I don't think this team can pull off 3 straight. We can beat anyone on a given night, then lay an egg the next game. Potential is there.
This team, I fear, is going to struggle next season with Omar and Daniel bailing them out.
One Tribe. One Family.
Yeah, that reality set in earlier in conference play.
The biggest factor in this will be which Malinowski shows up next year. This has been a lost year for him but the potential is still there. Matt M. is a wild card too. We have a pretty good track record with transfers having big early impact so who knows.

Elon loses to UD. They've lost 2 in a row on the road now too. Don't look now, but Towson who keeps winning really close games (I think they've had 3 home games in a row too) is now in 3rd.

We are going to have no power forward next season. We will be even worse on the boards next season (if that is fathomable)

Delaware has played well at home this season.
Pretty much already accepting the annual Delaware letdown is going to happen

Twenty percent from 3 pt land, less than 60% from the line, outrebounded badly, equals getting torn up!! Knight was ok.

Stat line made his game look better than it was. Took a lot of stupid fouls that made Jack have to play much more than he should have. Did not do a good job of boxing out and rebounding tonight (unlike his past few games). Granted, Jack was far and away the best player on the court for us tonight.

Never fails
I usually will bet against W&M in the CAA tourney and hope that it gets them into the NCAA tourney. Has gotten us to the finals in 2/4 years, just not a win in the finals...

Its snowing and you guys don't need his services to win this game. He could go outside and make snow angels and be just as effective on the outcome.
OK I'll award half credit

I've watched Pierce closely on the court and on the bench in the past month, and I have not seen the kind of enthusiasm and joy he displayed in his HS footage, or at the start of the year. Tony has made a point to comment recently that Justin is a confident player and he deserves more minutes, but he is unfortunately behind Omar. I may be totally off base, but my concern is whether the perceived droppage in enthusiasm with Justin is simply freshman adjustment hurdles or a reflection of underlying fractions with this team. Team chemistry issues and resulting poor performance can raise their ugly head more with adversity and road trips when you're forced to be with each other 24 hours. Chemistry and bonds can get better, or just become more magnified and harder to overcome. I hope my instincts have no real basis and we have both of these two talented freshmen around for their bright futures. A flag went up for me, though, when Tony made the comment. Despite my strong belief that Hunter Seacat was and is responsible for his own actions, I very much heard the reactive comments made on here from, whom we presume to have been, his father. It's important to listen to all feedback and learn from it.
I remember how disappointing the Tribe team was the year before our great 2009/10 NIT year. There were obviously issues in the locker room with that disappointing year that changed dramatically the following year when the team make-up changed. No other way to explain the night and day change in team effort because the talent level was not significantly different. With the exception of the great home game stretch in the past 2 weeks, this season has eerily reminded me of that 2008/09 team. Hope I'm very wrong about that, as I'd enjoy nothing more than to see this team become what they are capable of THIS year.

Pierce has had an up and down year for sure, but we can't forget that he's just 18 years old and has shown flashes of what he's capable of. I'm sure he's frustrated with his playing time coming off of an all state high school season but he had to have known when he committed here Prewitt would get majority of minutes at the 3 spot this year. We can't expect him (or knight) to be perfect as they havent seen nearly enough minutes to adjust to the college game yet. I still believe him and knight will both have outstanding careers here.

My concern is not Justin's playing time, or his expected up and down freshman season.

Misunderstood your post, I just re read it. I agree he looks more and more frustrated as the season goes on, and that is concerning.
