This will also depend if the bowl committee enacts the 5 year average rule where a conference will only be able to sign X number of bowl tie-ins based on the average of the number of 6 win teams for the past 5 years.

So, had this happened this year, North Texas and Mississippi State would have been left out of the bowl picture.

I would not be surprised by 2020 that we lose 3 to 4 more bowls

Yes.

However, I don't think we'll see this problem next year since UAB and Coastal Carolina will provide some more wins that could give a couple of schools the push to 6 wins.

Just saying there is not a lack of interest of other areas wanting to start a bowl game. If not for the moratorium there would likely be more right now. If a few more fall out the ban will likely be lifted.
