If you will remember (if your as old as dirt as I am), when Lefty Driesell left Davidson for Maryland in 1969 (even before I was at the College) he was asked what was the best thing about making his move, he was quoted as saying that it was that he would never again have to coach a game in Blow Gym.

When I was at the College in the early to mid-70's as an undergraduate and again in the mid to late 70's in grad school, the students were large and loud. The Kappa Sigs did a great job of raving up the noise level. I was a proud member of the ad-hoc JBT 43 kazoo band. I have the feeling that the current student body is too stressed out to come up with the releases we made.
Alcohol kinda helped increase that noise level and stress release back then

Well, I do remember carrying in and setting up kegs in the student section of Cary Field back in the day with my fraternity brothers. We were practitioners of Cliff Clavin's famed Buffalo Theory, even before it was broadcast...

Another W&M tradition, or at least what we've done since I've been a fan, is to have extremely young boys wiping the floor when needed. I have never liked this from a fear that they would get run over on a steal and fast break since they seldom seem to have the court awareness to know what is going on.

The last two games have been ridiculous and embarrassing, however. Essentially we are making the players, including Prewitt, or officials maintain the floor. Talk about a second-rate operation!

Maybe it takes money to fix this problem. I don't know but it certainly reflects poorly on the program.

I saw Duke and UVA players cleaning the floor in recent games...even saw the Marquette coach with
a mop in a game several weeks ago. It's not unusual and nothing to get excited about.

It was very warm in Williamsburg yesterday afternoon and roasting in Kaplan Arena. Players were sweating profusely and it's not unusual at all for them to clean since they know exactly where the slippery spots are.

William and Mary administration did not want to turn on the air conditioning and therefore humidity formed on the court. Just another example of making a choice for money reasons.
