Win @ Lowell, Beanpot looming
I know there are multiple other places to talk NU hockey, but thought I'd mention it here briefly. Nice win @ #7 Lowell today. 3rd period hat trick by Sikura with the final goal coming with 17 seconds left gives the Huskies the win 4-3. That's 3 wins in a row now, and we have the same conference record with 7 games remaining as we did last season (We went 6-0-1 in those last 7). Hoping this jump starts us into the Beanpot.
Of course, the team is still a bit worrying, goaltending is only marginally better from Ruck lately and the top line is still the only line scoring much of anything.
UMass on Tuesday, then Lowell again Friday, then Beanpot Monday vs. #9 Harvard!!

Big win at UML.
Down 3-1 in the 3rd and Dylan Sikura with a natural hat trick to stun UML.

6-5 win at UMass. They are a team down and out at the moment. That was an important win for us. ZAR only 1 assist in the last two games that featured 10 NU goals. Spreading the wealth a little bit.

RE: Win @ Lowell, Beanpot looming
Highlights of NU beating BC last night, to win the Beanpot consolation game.
Freakin' Harvard wins its first Beanpot since 1992, beating BU 6-3.
Better that they won instead of BU though!
29 years and counting for NU's 'Pot drought ...
Remarkably, there's NEVER been a Harvard-NU final in the 65 years of this tourney!!

NU gets the sweep vs. UConn this weekend. If there's one truth for NU hockey, it's that we own UConn in conference play. We are now 6-0 vs. UConn since they joined our conference, outscoring them 31-5 in the 6 games...
ZAR with the hat trick tonight, 4 point game. 2nd in the nation in scoring this season.
Win 2 games at Maine and we are guaranteed to host a first round playoff series. We are still in contention for a NCAA tournament spot, but will almost certainly need to get back to the Garden in the HE playoffs.

ZAR gets a hat trick in Senior Day! What a way to go out if it's your last home game!
UConn highlights ...

It's a long shot for them to get a NCAA tournament bid without winning the Hockey East tourney.
They currently have five other teams ahead of them for the 16th playoff spot in the Pairwise rankings, including BC and Vermont.
They have to run the table again.
