6 will always be more than 1. Think.
Time to put away childish things like 1-AA championships. Besides today's recruits were at best 1 year old the last time y'all won one of those.

RE: SBC Recruiting Roundup
Question for the 247 guru(s).
Darreon Jackson is a JC Safety that signed with A-State that has a .7000 grade and 2-star rating on 247.
Rivals has him as 5.5, and 3-star.
Scout NR and 3-star
ESPN 72 grage and 3-star.
I though that would almost guarantee a grade above .7000, and actually I assumed he would be a 3-star on 247 Composite.
Texas State has a player Kordell Rodgers with a .7950 grade and 3-star rating on 247.
Rivals has him as 5.4 and 2-star.
Scout NR and 2-star
ESPN 69 grade and 2-star
I was pretty sure the above would guaranteed he ended up with a high grade, which he has, but just 2-stars on 247's Composite.
What am I missing?

Same with a GS signee. Rated a three star by Scout with a composite of .856 but that was without a rate by 247 so they default rated him to a .70 and dropped him to a .78 on 247. I assume they will re-rate him but it hasn't happened yet.

Thanks for sharing and I was thinking that was the problem with the two players I used as examples, if they don't change then I can safely say I do not understand 247's protocol.

Simple.
If they don't get to it, it's because, to them, it isn't worth the time worrying about players at our level because they aren't with the programs that make money for them.
They went above and beyond to update everything last year, for a couple of weeks afterward. I'd be surprised if they continue to do that.

RE: SBC Recruiting Roundup
Well the Jackson kid now has a grade of .8010 and 3-stars which is more in line with what I expect based on how I though 247 worked so they are apparently still updating their data, which they did a long time after signing day last year.
As long as they get their data crunched in time for the Team Talent Composite to be ready prior to the season I'm good. It includes all the players, even those that are not included in their class rankings( which is a big omission for some schools) , and hopefully will give us a better feel for how the teams sack up talent wise.

I think you're looking just a little too much into this....

Nasty habit of mine for sure, but I do like what 247 is attempting to do with their composite ratings.
Here is a link to Rivals, Scout, ESPN, 247: Star rating systems explained, which is an good overview of each:

RE: SBC Recruiting Roundup
Looks like a bunch of recent adjustments to ratings on 247.
GSU's class drops to 4th, Troy's moved up to 2nd.
Also, they added Coastal to the list of Sun Belt schools.

Technically not accurate. Troy has four commits listed (not signed but they count per 247) that have issues of some sort. Not sure if any of them will sign.

The main reason for these oversights? 247 and the others are really only concern with P5 schools and more importantly the Alabama, Ohio St, Texas etc of the world with large fan bases. May not be fair but it is what it is.
Either your coaches are doing their job or fire them in a few years.

RE: SBC Recruiting Roundup
Seems to be the case.
Looking at the dots below the stars -as I understand it the red dots indicate how many of the 4 services (ESPN, Scout, Rivals, 247) have ranked a prospect. A grey dot means a site has not yet released rankings that include that prospect.- a lot of the signees are still waiting on one or more to do so, so I guess some ratings could change on 247.
Many never will be rated by all four.
Most of Texas State's signees have ratings by all four which tells me they were pretty well known prospects, which IMO is another indication that this is a solid class.
Most SBC teams still have just a few of their signees rated by all four.
None of Idaho's signees were evaluated by all four.
You will not find many P5 signees that are not evaluated by all four sites

Hopefully in 3-4 years we have SI telling everyone we've won multiple championships cause we have the most talented roster.
Repeating himself over and over and over and over and over.

I'm going with what 247 says, going forward. Don't have my cheat-sheet.
As far as repeating myself about their roster talent and their likely winning the SBC championship the last few years, I guess I'm in the same boat as those saying the same about Alabama, and their chance of doing the same in the SEC.
I'm sure the fans of the other SEC teams were just as hard on them as posters here were on me, and just as wrong. A-State may actually have won more conference championships.

Well you gotta admit he was right. Speaking of championships Anderson said on Bobo' s show he will be calling plays instead of Buster. He used to be quite good at that. To any MTSU fans it only took someone at stAte one year to pull that plug.
