I want to see how we handle the three-game stretch of Coastal and the Alabama teams on the road before I will be convinced.

Those were 3 of our last 4 games. All 3 teams are dangerous. Not a single pushover in the league I don't think this year.

I haven't seen ULM play yet though.

I'm not sure. You guys have a several flaws, much like everyone else. It's not like you guys are just running away and hiding from everyone.

The hardest trip in the league this year is Coastal and App back to back. Mainly because Coastal is such a unique team to play, and the actual trip itself is not one that suits itself for a 48 hour turnaround. We had to hit 2 flights and several hours on the bus just to get to Coastal, and then turn around and drive all the way to App.

Anyone who gets through that set undefeated has really accomplished something.

Home teams 0-4. An abnormal occurrence.

Statesboro is actually closer to Conway than Boone is, and we at least go to Coastal first and get App for the second game. Not very worried about that trip but can see how it can be difficult for a almost all of the other SBC teams. The Alabama and Arkansas trips are going to be where we will take some hits.

One more comment....I am glad - at least for this year - that we are in the Eastern Division. Saves us from having to play Texas State and UTA on the road, and we'll only have to play StAte once.

Congrats...

I've checked out on USA basketball, I'm afraid. Didn't think that Matt Graves deserved this year. Time to clean house in Mobile. We lose a ton this year too. This year just doesn't look good enough to make up for all of the bad years.

Might as well start the rebuilding with a new coach.

It's not as big of a difference for you guys since you are relatively close, though you should always worry about CCU. Best 3 point shooting team that day wins that game.

For a Western Division school however, or any school that has to fly. That trip is hell on earth. We had to drive to Memphis, Fly to Charlotte, and Drive to Myrtle Beach for the Coastal game, then turn around and bus all the way back to Boone for a game less than 48 hours later.

It's a tough trip if you have players who are not adjusted to that kind of traveling yet.

I don't see where either X or sly said we were expecting to run away with a thing. Unless you visit our board, you're guessing at what our expectations are even about.

I'm talking about Georgia Southern. Quoted a Southern fan

I think most Southern fans are in the same boat. We've only really beat the pants off of one conference opponent. The rest we've had to scratch and claw our way because of poor shooting in the first half.

Can you detail your trip to Coastal? Why would you need 2 flights and several hours on a bus?

Edit: never mind, I see where you posted it. Why didn't you guys just fly into Myrtle Beach?

Snow and ice in Jonesboogie might have contributed to the long trip. Heard Coach McCasland say something about 8 AM to 8 PM on the trip to South Carolina.

Likely has to do with connections out of the Memphis airport. They are fast phasing out the places you can fly to out of there. McCasland said we traveled for more than 12 hours the Friday before the CCU game.

I just wonder why they chose to bus from Charlotte. There are flights from Charlotte to/ from MB. Also, we have flights to / from Atlanta. Both of those airports are hubs for different airlines - I'd be surprised if you can't fly to either from Memphis. I understand if the winter storms caused some trouble - but the travel should typically be pretty easy.

I don't think he's detailed fully everything that went into it. I just know that it took us over 12 hours because he talked about it in interviews, and that we ended up in Charlotte at one point because of a post by a staffer geotagged there.
