CofC vs. Hofstra
Since the weather kept me from seeing W&M play Drexel today, I ended up going to the Hofstra at College of Charleston game.

Some observations:

1) Bernardi and Gustys had serious off-nights. Bernardi was 0-4 from the three and his shots were not really contested. Gustys did not look to score even when open under the basket; his backup Sabety had a much better game.
2) CofC's defense is pretty stifling (Bernardi's open threes notwithstanding). Their zone offense seems to rely on guard penetration (not good news for us) and Chealey looks very difficult to defend. I would expect to see us in our 1-2-2 a lot because I don't think we can handle their guards otherwise.
3) Pemberton had a really good game. It's a shame we lost out on him because I think he is going to be a special player. Milon looked really good the one time I saw him in practice but I suspect he doesn't have Pemberton's quickness. Offensively, that can be overcome but we certainly need to improve our team quickness.

Rough week for the Tribe coming up. Hoping we can continue to improve and maybe nab the 4 or 5 spot in the tournament.

RE: CofC vs. Hofstra
Hofstra probably could have won if A) the refs didn't make several phantom foul calls that got Gustys in foul trouble and lost possessions for Hofstra, and B) Hofstra stopped doubling the big man when he got it down low and leaving Chealey wide open for 3. Watching that game & the W&M one, Hofstra really makes a lot of questionable double teams that seems to result in the opponent scoring like 95% of the time
