Mount Pleasant has quite a few reasonable hotel choices. This area is surrounded by residential and is very safe. You are looking at a 10-15 minute drive to the arena. Uber should be dirt cheap in Charleston also. I wouldn't spend a ton to stay right by the arena

I stayed there for the 2006 SoCon tournament, easily walk able to the arena.

The Marriott in North Charleston or the one in Charleston?

North Charleston

Just reserved a room.

Charleston was a win for me since we'll be staying with friends in Mt. Pleasant. Food and wine festival is a bonus for the wife.
