This is a great achievement and our folks should be commended. I'm just wondering why it took 6 weeks from when our season ended to figure it out. I don't believe playoffs factor in to it (but I could be wrong).

Unfortunately, opponents usually only ran the clock out.

That is a very misleading statistic. Why pass on the Tribe when you can run it?

Rushing yards by opponent this year:
NC State 259
Hampton 150
Norfolk St. 112
Elon 140
UNH 252
JMU 329
UD 267
Maine 186
SBU 157
Towson 274
Richmond 155

Hopefully that's fixed next year.

This unit, with the circumstances they were under, performed well. At the beginning of the season we knew there were holes to fill. Many were filed by sophomores and freshmen. This experience will impact this upcoming year in a positive way.

I expect the defense to improve next year. Injuries forced guys into starting roles. I think Johnson & Suarez at DE will be improved next year, and hope Murray is healthy. Still lean at DL, though we converted 2 OL to DL. Either of the DE's that redshirted last year play DT? Both have some size, and could easily bulk up for DT duty. Loved Laster & Parker at DB, and Jones At LB. Those young guys will be more experienced and confident next year. Gotta get more pass rush next year.
