This is assuming that they have the ability to prevent our shooters from getting into a rhythm. I've only got a one game sample to look at, but they may not be good enough to do that on a regular basis.

The other side to that coin is that our offense was good enough to get our shooters going. That's something that we know can happen because it's happened many times this year already.

Coaches generally talk about what their team can do differently, though, rather than what the other team did. They can only work on one of the two teams in practice. I think Coach Shaver is a little unique in his postgame comments because he's more inclined to give credit to opponents who have good games despite us executing our gameplan for them.

It's actually one of my favorite things about Tony. It's very honest to say that sometime the other team is just too good to stop. Plus it puts the onus on him and his gameplan rather than the players' execution.

I only got to watch the tail end of the second half and OT, but from what I saw and in recent games, Daniel Dixon's driving has been much more effective. No question I would love him to get hot from three, but his drives help set that up, and open up other options within the offense.

Still wondering if/when we're going to see Knight and Whitman on the court together.

I agree that Tony's honesty and integrity are some of his best qualities. I agree that he takes blame on for failure of execution by players in the way he does this on multiple occasions. That is something that you will never see from Mihalic, who strikes me poorly on many levels.

Tony's honesty and willingness to take the blame is also a reason that i stand up and take notice when he criticizes his team for lack of effort, as he has several times this year. When these guys come to play and play hard, they are on a level that is very pleasing (i.e. ODU & Hofstra). When they go through the motions they are quite disappointing (i.e. Hampton & Northeastern).

We have better athletes than we did in yesteryear. We have a coach that is good and has a system that works well with the players he recruits when they execute it. Now what we need is consistent hustle and commitment to the system and the rest of the year should be good.

RE: Hofstra
His driving is because people have to guard him for the three. Once the over commit he just goes by them. Now they will have to back off a little which will open up the three.

Hofstra defensively this season has made W&M look like UVA. Okay, not quite- more like UVA's backups. They're all-offense.

Attended Tony's Luncheon at Anna's Brick Oven today. Great full house of Tribe hoop fans heard from Tony who brought along Daniel and Omar along with his assistant coaches.

A very positive session covering many topics...

I only saw the Top Plays during one episode of Sportscenter (and only saw plays 6 to 1). But it appeared they did an all NFL top 10 because of the end of the season.

I'd imagine if it was top 10, it would've appeared on social media by now...

Great read. I've never seen a rivalry develop purely from competition rather than proximity and familiarity but that seems like what we have here.

At least we weren't the only team to get burned by Wright-Foreman. He had about half of Hofstra's points tonight.

Pemberton again has an awful game, and I am loving every minute of it
