So I got to looking for the MWC on the board list to see how they reacted to last nights Potato Bowl game and I find that there isn't a listing for that conference in the "Active Boards" list. What's up with that?

With that win it looks like the SBC split with MWC 4-4. Time for USA to pull a rabbit out of the hat "one more time".

Sure hope the Jags have one more left in them, considering they are prone to having trouble with trip-opt teams.

A Summary of the MWCBoard thread on the game:

"CSU is going to flatten Idaho." "They don't deserve to FBS"
"I see this as being a Globetrotters vs General type game with some late scores to make the game closer than it is" (I laughed at this)

After the first quarter

"Umm, what's going on CSU. Figure it out"

"They'll still come back. It's just a slow start because of the cold weather

At halftime:

"Bobo is going to deliver one hell of a halftime speech, that will get them back"
"Please don't lose to Idaho, it will be embarrassing"

"In the 3rd quarter"

HAHAHAA THIS IS GLORIOUS. IDAHO JUST SCORED AGAIN"


"Haha They are going to put 60 on these guys"



Literally, at some point the entire MWC forum started rooting for Idaho because CSU looked so bad.

I enjoy that board for that reason. For the most part, they are fairly reasonable.

I wish the MWC would extend an invite to Idaho. I hate to see them drop down to FCS but it just doesn't geographically make sense to keep them in the Belt.

Qualitatively speaking, triple-option teams tend to struggle in bowl games. Southern played well last season however their offense wasn't as restrictive as the traditional approach to the style is. I suspect that given USA's recent history OOC and the added time should allow them to play relatively well.

Also, Air Force won't be as motivated because it's a bowl against a lowly Sun Belt team and of course it'll be the Sun Belt team's super bowl....according to every fan that loses to a Sun Belt team before realizing that the top half of the conference, collectively, play well OOC (except for Arkansas State).

I agree with this. Idaho is a decent school but as you say, being in the Sunbelt just doesn't fit. It isn't so much that the majority of Sunbelt schools all have to fly out west once a year to play the Vandals. It is that the Vandals have to fly east FOUR times per year to play their Sunbelt road games. I'm sure that can get pretty expensive on a schools budget. The MWC really should look to adding Idaho.
