Good luck Idaho.

In an era when a whole lot of money is riding on on-field performance, we're currently better at football than at least 70% of the Sun Belt. So that's at least one thing a conference would want.

Gotta do it more then just one season, string a couple together.

OK, so what happens if we do it again next year. What if we win this conference?
ha! I gonna get laugh at latan win for conference?? no way!!

In ONE year, your performance was better... Care to go over the life of your time in the Sun Belt?

Hey, I said "currently," not "we've always been awesome." 2014 and 2015 are sunk costs. Now you're getting a return on your investment. Drop us now and you'll be cutting us loose while we're making you money and helping the conference.

No idea why that's such a strange notion. Did you pay any attention this year? We finished 1 game out of 1st place. We have a good coach and a good core coming back. We should be in the top tier of conference title contenders next year.

If App doesn't win the conference next year I sincerely hope Idaho does for the kids and fans of that program.

5 out of 6 Sun Belt titles says you'll probably be disappointed again this coming season.

Latah County, are Idaho's facilities that much worse than the average Sun Belt school's? The Kibbie Dome is small, dated, and leaves a lot to be desired; not trying be rude, but it's hard to argue otherwise. But aside from the stadium, does Idaho have comparable practice facilities, training rooms, locker rooms, and so forth? It's not like this league is full of schools with mega-athletic budgets...

Absolutely. In fact I would bet we are in the upper half of the SBC in terms of support/practice facilities.

-A relatively new weights room that was the biggest square footage wise in the WAC
-Locker rooms and team meeting spaces were renovated maybe 4 years ago
-120 yard sprint turf outdoor practice field
-State of the art rehab facility with aquatic treadmills

The Kibbie Dome is a terrible gameday facility, but it is also arguably one the best field houses in the country. Literally every sport uses it and it's a great resource for the campus in general. If I had $100 million lying around I would build a cheap 25,000 seat stadium ala FAU and leave the Kibbie roof on, reposition the basketball court to make that a permanent arena and leave half of the football field intact for an indoor fieldhouse.

How very... Liberty of you to say "forget about this bad stuff that recently happened, look at this good stuff! We're a good fit!"

But moreover... If you tank next year, would you then say "ok ok... Sun Belt got it right"?

Yeah, would. I acknowledge that under the current CFP contract it only makes financial sense to have more than 10 teams if Team #11 is pulling its weight on the field or if you're worried about an imminent conference raid. If we're 3-9 next year then yeah, we stink, why keep us around? But if we're winning, we're helping. And right now we're winning. So we're helping.

I just wish the conference had more than one year with 12 to test the waters.

Keep Idaho and NMSU until at least 2020. Make NMSU schedule more BBall games with the western schools and Idaho will be able to continue recruiting FBS level talent in their region that might otherwise strengthen Boise St., which the Sun Belt doesn't need as MWC is slowly trending downward.

Feels good to have actual rivals where the game's outcome isn't certain until the final whistle blows

Can't remember the score when y'all beat us in Jonesboro but has either of our game's that close at the end? I looked...first game was within 5...second a bit more.

You can build a stadium for much less than $100M

App dominated in TOP and yards our first meeting. Ark St. scored two TDs in the last two minutes to make it look close.

It was the first game I remember thinking we may be good at this FBS thing. The following week we put the hurt on ULL and I knew we were on to something.
