Gutsy win on the road against a good mid-major team. Especially without Murph.

Let's hope he's OK for Saturday.

TJ carried us on his back tonight. Max was solid.

Green and Sajon defended the paint very well. Miller not so much.

A game like this is where we miss Red, because this is what happens when Begley becomes a turnover shop along with poor decisions.

FINALLY back home this weekend. Always a big game now when we face the Tribe!

RE: Oakland
I think this one was a bit of a lucky win, since Oakland kept missing wide open shots all first half. But a win is a win.

TJ awesome, nothing more to say on him.

I liked Green and Ford getting some minutes. I really hope they turn into solid contributors at some point with consistency.

Hope Murphy is okay. I couldn't tell what was bothering him, just saw him on the bench with a towel over his head.

I was able to watch this at work while I was working late, nice buzzer beater TJ! Good work team, 7-5 out of conference is not bad at all for a team that lost so much. I could not have predicted our wins and losses before the season though.

In a few of those 5 losses, we missed shots too we normally make so it's cyclical.

They took a lot of ill-advised 3's as well. They had trouble with our zone all game.

Agree on both accounts.

Hopefully this will end up a good win. Oakland hasn't exactly had the strongest schedule thus far. They looked really good in stretches, but also undisciplined at times.

I got a Christmas card from the basketball team this year. Very classy! Nice picture of the Michigan State crowd last season.

Good win for a good program. I hope that people start realizing what a good program this is. If you were down south, they would already be packing them in. And, it will come....people like a winner and that is what the Huskies are. They are consistently good.

The key is that they have a quality coach. Sustained success. They'll be a contender in the conference for sure.

I think Huskies fans will admit, we pick Coen apart like crazy. He frustrates us to no end. But at the end of the day, I think we all understand that we are fortunate to have a guy like him. If we were to get rid of him it would be difficult to bring in someone better. Coen is a fine coach who is a good recruiter, but frustrates us with his development of players, many times kids never know what their role is over the years.

Our school president does not care about sports. He has an athletic director who does not care about winning. From a high level outsider perspective, this isn't really a bad thing. The president has improved the academic standing of Northeastern since he has come here, and our AD cares more about fairness, equality, and doing the right thing more than anything else. All good things.

However, all these things come at the cost of winning at times, and it frustrates a lot of the diehards. In my opinion, as a midmajor school, can't complain too much, but it's hard sometimes. We are fairly successful lately, winning the conference tournament in men's hockey and men's basketball once each in the last couple seasons. Also winning men's and women's soccer in the last few seasons as well.

Long story short, I think all schools at our level have lots of frustrations, NU is no exception, but I know I can appreciate the success we've had lately, even if it hasn't translated to national awareness.
