Coastal fans have heard of App st and its near vacation destinations for us easy call.
I imagine the long time members would favor ASU the newer members probably APP.

I think the whole conference did decent. Record 6 teams in bowl games. A ranked team for the first time. Two teams getting votes at the same time. Been a good year for the belt.

Man, you're a salty little ******.

Edit: Guess App will have to be happy with being the only team ever in the Sun Belt with 11 wins. ho hum

Because App plays a ***** non-conference schedule relative to historical Sun Belt non -conference schedules . . . get over it Moonshiner!
Yep.. Tenn, Miami & ODU was not nearly as tough as that brutal slate AState played.

Can one of the older StAte fans remind me what were the money games we played back in 2011 and 2012 when we won 10 games each year? Those would be the correct games to compare to Appy playing Tenn and Miami this season for their back to back ten win seasons.

So instead of playing "a ***** non-conference schedule", App's schedule was comperable to what AState played. Thank you.

Yes your schedule this year in winning back to back ten win seasons is comparable to the OOC schedule A State played back in 2011-2012 when they also won 10 games back to back.

Compare the attitudes of fans three years ago to the optimism so apparent today. Despite GS's lack of any contribution this year, arguably harming the conference more by beating Troy, good history likely resulted in more TV than we bargained for. Felt like being paraded about for the blood thirsty mob at the time. I say this to give GS props also for adding to the undeniably improved perception within the conference as well as outside the conference. Clearly now the best thing for all of us at the moment is to stay put or get an invite from the AAC or better.

All I know at this point is that App State basically owns the MAC, the only top teams from that conference we haven't beaten are the ones we haven't played yet. WMU, CMU, and Miami (OH), which we easily beat two out of those three right now. WMU would be another Toledo, Ohio style slugfest, team with less mistakes wins.

In 2012 A-State opened the season in Eugene, OR and lost 57-34 to the Ducks.......which if I recall was the highest point total the Oregon D gave up all season. They then played the Memphis Tigers again and won 33-28. That game was followed by their second money game of the season vs Nebraska in Lincoln where they fell 42-13. And once again the Red Wolves ended their regular season OOC schedule with a win, this one over a FCS team from the SWAC, the Alcorn St Braves by a score of 56-0. With a final regular season record of 9-3 ASU went on to win their tenth vs the 25th ranked Kent State Flashes in the GoDaddy Bowl 17-13.

So yeah I would say the schedules in the two seasons ASU won ten games is very comparable to what Appy played this year.

Keep in mind that the Memphis team you're referring to won five games combined in those two years. Especially in 2011, that wasn't a quality win at all.

Actually............I wasn't even counting Memphis. Just the two money games each year vs Ill., VT, Ore., and Neb.

I love to duck hunt. No brainer for me, I'll take the flat rice fields of eastern Ark any day over Boone.

Since both are among the top programs in the Sunbelt neither one is likely to ever be kicked out of the league. The only way one of them leaves is if they get the chance at a better conference. So to ask such a question really is kind of just.......well........stupid.

I'm serious. I love to duck hunt and that part of Ark is some of the best in the world. Maybe this will convince you, one year I chose to go duck hunting over going to one of Southern's national championship games in Chatt. Cold front pushed the birds south and I had to go.
